Re: crystal eye cam
This also happened to me and it said the exact same thing. but after going without my camera i just kept clicking on the icon trying to open it and that phrase came up, then 4-6 weeks after it started it started to work fine again. if you report the problem to windows problems and solutions they might find a solution, it takes time i think it was some kind of update or windows toook long to find a solution

Open control panel look in scanners and cameras if the camera is listed in there click on it - if it opens a preview picture and works then either you have the wrong software - it is corrupted or there is a conflict.
Is it windows Xp? If then pleasecheck the device manager go to control panel administrative tools and then choose computer management and click on device manager and see if its showing yelllow mark for your webcam or details unknown for hardware.
If you find these things then please reinstall the driver by drivers utility cd .
Import video is only when you have recorded a video using the webcam in a particular format and not on the fly which is what you are trying to do.
Record what you want using another application and the webcam then import the video into movie maker to edit.
Alternatively, I think you need to to go the options screen and select the default audio device. Go to control pannels and see if its there and then select the webcam as the default device for MS applications.
sounds to me like there are other issues with your windows operating system. run a full diagnostic with norton system works to correct the problem, if it doesnt fix it, then i suggest you return the webcam and get something better :D
