Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone
Anyone know how to remove the front lcd screen for replacement
Step one Take out battery!! to avoid esd (Electro Static Discharge that may ruin the new screen or fry your phone), there are four screws in the corners covered by a sticker material two over the speakers two under in the far corners hidden with stickers. remove those stickers with a sharp flat bladed eyeglasses screwdriver. use a #00 phillips head screwdriver to undo these screws. Look along the edges of the face of the phone you will see where the colored piece meets the gray piece. I used the flat bladed screwdriver and carefully wedged these pieces apart and used my finger nails to carefully separate without penetrating too deeply with the screwdriver (that may crack the internal screen). pull the cover off gently you will notice after you removed the keypad there is a metal cage housing the internal screen gently pry it from the side of the end key You will see a 7 by 3 mm box underneath with gold connectors do not touch these the oil on your fingers will prevent the screen from working properly this is the connection for the outer and inner screen to the mother board on your phone (right side from top view) it may take some effort as mine was tight you will see the screen and zif connector for the front lcd. also the outer speaker is soldered to the lcd circuit pad. Take a picture with a digital camera if you need to desolder from the old and resolder onto the new lcd (this is a pain in the ass and the pictures will help trust me!!!) lift the black clip on the zif connector and remove the screen ribbon while taking care not to pull on the earphone assembly use the flat head to remove the magnet and earpiece noting their orientation for later re installment. de-solder from the old lcd and re solder connection of these components to the new lcd. Place them back into their respective positions tucking the wireso that the cage will not pull on them when you push it down (there is a small gap but still be very careful) Place the zif connector ribbon in the holder and slide the plastic retaining clip back down. Flip the cage into its original position and push firmly into place. re-install the key pad and face plate. re install battery and power on. my screen didnt work at first. i had to press rather hard to get the pins to seat properly on the one and four button area after i closed everything up, where the part is i said not to touch, so dont be discouraged if you put it all together and neither screen works (I found this out after i got rather angry after all that work) This is all a very overwhelming amount of work but i learned a great deal. you may try ebay for a broken env or one with a bad ESN they go cheap <100$ and you can use the screen and speakers without soldering. That would cut the probability of failure by 75%. The contacts are rediculously small 1mm by 2mm super hard to solder properly but everything else was simple. screens are available for 30.00 on ebay they are new but again comes the soldering issues. wish lg would use some sort of pin connector instead of soldering these contact directly to the phone that would make this phone way more easier to fix. hope this helps good luck

Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.
You can find displays for fair price at :
