When I turn Buffalo 1TB drivestation on for first time and go to My Computer, it will not open window and freezes computer.

1st of all try it in another PC, and see if it does then same. Then we can establish if it's the drive station or the PC.

1. Right click on My Computer and choose Manage.

2. Navigate to Disk Management and check to see if the drive is appearing as a drive.

3. If it is showing as unallocated, right-click on it and Partition the drive.

4. If it is showing as formatted and healthy, right-click on it, choose 'change Drive Letter and Path' to assign a drive letter.
