Problem for Hard Drives
Generic problem for all Hard Drives
Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus 500gb
Unit lite started flashing rapidly and drive letter is not displayed on"My computer" file. I attempted to reinstall as a new device and got a "Code 10" report. The lite flashes with only power connected or USB connected or both. The unit was purchased 11/11/2007.

- looks like I got the same problem with Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 250Gb. It said "The device you removed was not properly put away. Data might have been lost or damaged. Before you unplug your device, you must first select its icon in the Finder and choose Eject from the File menu. " In the middle of writing data to disk and then the light keep flashing and the device is not seen even via USB Prober.appI am on "OS X" 10.4.11 iBook. Clean restart helps to mount the drive, and the media appears undamaged, but it fall into the same problem again - sudden "device removed " message and flashing light. I also tested with the other cable, same thing.- USBHDproblem
