I have the same problem and I did as you suggestet (installed driver for an Z42 and added it on the usb port). so now the printer is "printing" but without ink. next I changed the cartridges, but it won´t print neither in black nor in colour. I even tried to clean the printer inside but honestly I even can´t see where the ink is supposed to come out of the cartdriges....

how comes a solution is working with your printer / laptop but not with mine? I hope somebody can help. thanks! -   verezzi

-   I'm trying to use my lexmark z45 printer with my new lap top - when I plug it in, it trys to install, but then says I need the install disk.... I don't recall having an install disk. -   Guest

-   My lexmark z45 doesn't use a usb, it connects with a printer cable. When I install the z42 driver, it does not work. Help?-   Guest
