Question about JVC AV-32260 32" TV

2 Answers

Locked I have a JVC AV-32260 32'' TV without a remote. My three-year old somehow locked the set by pushing the buttons on the front panel. I have tried every combination I can think of to unlock the set. How can I get the set unlocked? ron

Thanks for trying, but how do you enter the defaul code without a remote?

  • p ron Jan 18, 2008

Yes the set turns on; it has sound but no picture.

By pressing the menu button, I am able to scroll to "V-Chip" or "Set Lock Code," which upon entering either the locked icon appears.

    Thanks for helping.

    Hi bobbyj,

    been on vacation.

the tv is strictly used for showing dvds. the video feed connects directly to the set.

Thanks, but no luck. The channel is on 2 while the input is on video 1--the screen is black.

When I change the input to tv the screen becomes snowy.

The V chip summary displays the locked icon as does the set lock code.

If you are talking about the parental lock simply unplug the set it will reset the lock code to the default code of 0000

  • Robert Johnson Jan 18, 2008

according to the manual removing the power resets all the parental lock back to default no need for the remote. does the set turn on?

ok, sound but no picture is not an issue of lock, the lock icon would show up when a lock rated show is on. I need more info on how you have it hooked up. also if you go to a PBS station is there picture?

cable box or streight cable(no box)?

    sat box?

can you change inputs( dvd, vcr)? if so do you have picture?

does the picture appear to be on the edges but not in the middle?

try using the channel down button on the tv to get the desired input you maybe on the worng input make sure that the DVD is turned on first with a dvd playing. if it shows snowy picture then you are on the tuner you should be able to get to the input by the channel buttons go below channel 2. also check the cables to the set, if using the yellow ,red, white make sure they are pluged into there color coded jacks both on the tv and the DVD. if using S Video cable replace it it may be bad.

The set is connected to the dvd player attached at the video one port. Once menu key is pressed, all the appropriate functions appear. When I enter the Set lock code function, the "locked" icon appears. It used to be unlocked.

I cant plug my jvc to my tv .Each time i try, nothing shows up.

I am assuming that you have an AV cable which you need to have connected to your camcorder at the AV output socket, and the other end should have RCA phono plugs (one red, one white and one yellow) which usually connect to three corresponding sockets on the front or side of most modern TV sets, these may be inside a front panel which opens. Once connected, you need to select the appropriate AV input on your TV remote, very often this will be "Front AV" or AV3 or AV4, you need to check your TV instruction manual to be sure of which input is required for your specific model of TV...hope that helps!

Programming problem

a universal remote control is programmable without codes using this general process:
  • push and hold 3 sec the button set up
  • select the device to control (TV DVD etc)
The tv has to be ON at this step (use the power button in the tv front panel
  • use the remote control power button and try to get your tv pushing the button again and again and again
  • Caution! Go slow because when finally the tv turns on you have to push enter in the remote control to save this code that actually is the one the tv needs,

The digital clock on my 30"JVC is showing in the bottom of screen

The menu screen does not function the display. Without the original remote or a universal remote that does not have a display button, try unplugging the television for at least 2 minutes or more and plug the tv back in. This should reset the tv display. If the universal remote has a display button, depress the display button until you get the desired display results. Reference the user guide below for the display button.
