Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

Sound goes out...

I had the Sansa e250 for a month or less now... had problems with it freezing but holding the menu for 15sec fixed that... but now my sound goes out after playing a song for a few seconds, its not the headphones... wat should i do???

The issue you have described with your portable device in most cases can be resolved by formatting your device. Please follow these steps even if you have already attempted them once before.





Please note that this will remove all music from your device.





Formatting the device in Windows Media Player





1. Open Windows Media Player with your MP3 player connected to the computer





2. At the top of windows Media Player select the Sync tab at the top





3. The MP3 player should be recognized on the right hand side and say "Your Player Name"





4. Above the player name is a button that says "Format Storage Media" click this button to erase all the data from the player





5. Continue with the acknowledgement of erasing all data on disk.

6.Go to sandisk.com to get a firmware upgrade for your device...

Make sure hold/lock is not engaged:
These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

Try to scan with antivirus!!! maybe your unit is have a virus thats why your unit is freezing.

Every time I go to a MP3 on my "MP3 Player" it freezes
the tip about holding the power botton for like 15 seconds works but I still cant get it to play MP3 without freezing

Press and hold the power/menu button down for approx. 15-20sec. to reset the player, if the problem continues download latest firmware

  • Some Sansa players needs to be in MSC mode before plugging it in.
  • Plug in your Sansa player and it will automatically check for updates.

    solution #1 : try HARD resetting it by holding the power button for 15 seconds. if not solution #2 : install and use this tool to repair your sansa. Its called the Sansa Connect Recovery Tool.     My sansa e250 does not start at all


    Have you tried 'recovery mode'? 1. Lock your player and hold the record button. 2. While holding the rec. button, turn on the player. You're now in recover mode. 3. Connect it to your computer and update the firmware manually. (get the file from the sandisk website and drag it into the player drive.) 4. Turn on your player and hopefully it will work.

    My Sandisk shuts down on me


    Go to your menu screen by briefly pressing the power on button. Then hold the power button while in the menu. This will re-start the player and it should fix your problem. If this doesn't work, contact technichal support. =)
