I have a Denon 4308ci receiver and am trying to play Dolby TrueHD. I am using a Toshiba HD-XA2 as my source. It is set to bitstream in the s/pdif. I am using a fiber optic cable connection. The receiver will not say that it is TrueHD. What am I missing?
I have a similiar problem - ive connected my 605 amp to the new Panasonic BD30 Blu-ray player and it mutes the sound when it starts the movie on a True HD disc (Cars). It plays audio fine through the trails and menu page but mutes once the movie starts and this is the part that has me stumped - simply flashes the "Dolby True HD" as though I'd hit a mute button or something. Obviously I hadn't. Any advice?

I don't think TrueHD can be passed over s/pdif. I think it requires HDMI (1.3) audio or 8 RCA outs/ins.
