No wonder I don't find Emersons anywhere. You can try this , use a TV/AUDIO cable from the back of your cable box to the front inputs. Then use the channel button until you get LINE. You will get TV signal but you still have to turn it ON/OFF manually. Same goes for VOLUME. Good luck.

There are a few universal remote controls that you can use, I have 2 philips remotes that work. One is model SRU4106/27, I believe i purchased that last year at Target, the other I no longer have the instructions to and there is no model number on the remote, but if the label says dvr's the remote will probably work. It is nice to get one with an advance button that has an arrow on the button, because Replay tv of that model has a commercial skip that can be used vs fast forward on other dvrs. The remote that I gave the model number for does not have the advance button, but the other thinner gray remote does have it and I purchased that one at Best Buy, but haven't seen them there in a while. You can also find them on ebay, just search replay tv on the search bar...Good Luck!
remote codes are set by the manufacurer of the remote not the tv. if there are any others not listed in instructions for remote, the manufacturer of remote would have them. most combo unit are not able to be programmed into universal remotes due to the fact that there are alot of specialized function buttons on original remote. you can obtain a replacement remote thru toshiba
ha i can help a little ,i also have a rca universal and same tv,vcr combo, the codes in the list rca provides do not work ,but if you go through the code search procedure componet vcr, until the set turns off hit enter, this will allow for power on off funtions and ch up down or number keys, also vcr functions, but no vol, control or menu nevigation, hope this helps a little
Try the Phillips website >HERE< which links to their Universal Remote support centre. Unfortunately you haven't given the details of your actual remote but you should be able to find it and download a manual or email them direct.
