Question about Nikon COOLPIX P4 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Uploading Doesn't Work

Suddenly, I cannot upload pictures to any computer I use. The system recognizes the Nikon camera/USB (under "safely remove hardware") , but there is no entry on "My Computer" showing it as a drive and no pop-up offering to transfer to Picture Project.

I cannot upload pictures from my camera (Coolpix P4) to my computer. Picture project states "not connected." I have uploaded pictures in the past. How do I fix this problem?

I dont have a memory card yet, so my pictures are saved to the camera's
memory. I use the plug to transfer my pictures to my computer. I plug
in the camera, then turn it on. The lense usually comes out and
something pops up on my screen of my computer that asks me if i want to
transfer my pictures to a folder on my computer, but now the lense
doesnt go out when i turn it on while it is plugged in...and on my
computer it says that the pictures are being transfered and then it
disappears and doesnt ask me if i want to transfer them...

Ok

Do you have any disk or software package of your camera? you need to install it to the computer. It serves as driver for your camera.

to import your pictures in the camera i suggest that use your memory card if you have a card reader to transfer files.

USB will not recognize Nikon D40 Digital Camera

You asked about the USB connection between your camera and the computer. First, be sure you are using an approved USB cord that came with your camera. Nikon gets a little finicky if you use an off brand. Next, be sure your USB outlet is working on your computer. Plug something else into it to be sure it's functional. Next, reboot your computer and shut off your camera. After reboot turn your camera on to see if the computer now recognizes your camera.

It would help to know what software you're using for the post processing. Some software has an option to disallow uploading of duplicate photos. This could be the case if you've already uploaded these same images previously. You might want to check for that.

My nikon coolpix L100 is not uploading pics unto my mac

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Can't upload pics; computer not "seeing" camera

The key to getting back to "It used to work fine;" is to make Windows "GO BACK IN TIME" to that moment when it last "It used to work fine;" occurred. How to do that. Try to pinpoint the exact date that it started acting badly. Now do this: START-ALL PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-SYSTEM RESTORE. I'm hoping you actually have RESTORE utility turned on...Now select the restore date BEFORE it quit working. DONE! Windows will run as it used to run when all worked well. I use RESTORE all the time and I have 100% success rate!
