Good day,
The fan motor runs when the thermostat asks it to.
If the machine is not at the proper temperature, the fan will run 24/7.
You have a cooling problem with the machine.
here are some areas to check.
1. The fan motor in the freezer compartment. It is behind the rear panel. You should be able to hear it running when you open the freezer door.
2. The defrost system has failed. Once again, open the freezer door, if you see frost built up on the rear panel, Either, the defrost timer, defrost thermostat, or main heater has failed.
3. The compressor is bad, or the start components mounted on the side of the compressor have failed.
4. Refrigerent has leaked out, or the system has an internal restriction.
The last 2 items are best left to a trained repair technician.

Subzero 611 freezer not cooling

Could be but before that check if settings are working. Set the freezer settings to coolest and see if cools. If ok, set to desired temp.

Hi Mark and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Touch the front of the unit where the doors close and feel if it is very very warm to the touch. If it is very warm to the touch... here are the prime suspects:
1. condenser coils covered in lint
2. condenser fan not running or running slow.

An easy way to determine if there is a condenser fan or coil fan problem is to simply direct a floor fan at the base if the refrigerator. If it cools down substantially in an hour.... there is a problem with the coils being clogged or the condenser fan not running. If that makes no difference... before opening the back of the unit... inspect the back wall of the freezer compartment for any signs of ice build up. If you see ice-build up.... unplug the unit.. remove freezer contents and direct that fan into the freezer compartment for just over 2 hours. Then return the unit to normal service.... If the temps come down to normal... for 2 - 3 days then start creeping up again... you have an automatic defrosting problem.

Forgot to mention... make sure the evaporator fan is running at full speed.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Freezer cuts on every 3-4 minutes. stays on 8-10 seconds. some thawing occuring

If I understand you correctly the compressor is short cycling. The more it does this the worse it gets by causing the compressor to overheat. Sometimes the problem is because the condenser fan or evaporator fan being defective. Pull away from wall and remove cover over compressor unplug and feel top of compressor and if too hot to keep hand there keep unplugged but do examine the evaporator and condenser fan to eliminate them as a reason. The most likely reason is start relay and or start/run capacitor and sometimes a worn out compressor.

Overload relay click here=> 67002527
Run capacitor click here=> 65889-4
Location Click Here=> MBB1952GR Compressor Components
Parts in that photo are marked as 10 overload/relay, 11 is the run capacitor and 3 being condenser fan motor. Condenser and evaporator fan motors do not always stop completely when bad so make sure both run while compressor is running. I have a ge gss20iemdww - 20 fridge. The fan inside the freezer is always running and it does not freeze anymore, but its still cold. I already replaced the mother board it did nothing. The condensor fan is...

I owned my own appliance repair shop from 79 to 90. Haven't done it since. However, I will attempt to help you with this.

Makes cold but not freezing, freezer fan is running.
The items that will give this issue are multiple.
1. Low refrigerant ---- not likely
2. Weak compressor --- more probable but not likely
3. faulty compressor overload protector --- more probable but not likely
3. dirty condenser or bad condenser fan motor.
These cause high head pressure and mess up the cooling cycle. The compressor may be going off on a temp protector or it could be running constant. You will need to remove the back panel to see these items.
If it is a dirty condenser that is causing this it will be REALLY dirty. You will know.
If it is the condenser fan it can be blocked by something, normally a dead mouse, or something that was dropped in front of the refrigerator and carried by the air flow of the fan. Not so likely. Don't rule this out if you don't see it in the fan as sometimes things shift when you move the appliance. It doesn't take much to stop these motors as they are very low wattage.

Freezer fan runs for hours

When compressor cycles off, your freezer fan should shut off as well !

Freezer fan should not be spinning while compressor off.

You might need a control board replacement, that controls fan.

If you are talking about compressor run time, that is a bit excessive, usual causes are dirty condensers but you say they are clean - are your condensers at the bottom of the unit ? If so make sure the condenser fan next to the compressor is running too, blowing air ont he condenser.

I have a Model #GD5RHAXNB0 and the compressor keeps cycling. It is not cooling.

Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

Whirlpool refrigerator side by side door seal very hot

when you said fans working....does it include the condenser fan? or it may have two evaporator fans..

if condenser fan is working, then it is just normal. if the compressor is running, that part would really heat up. and if it is too hot, then the condenser fan could probably not running.

its not constant because the compressor cuts off when ever the thermostat cuts off.

tnx 4 using fixya,
