Touchpad Scrolling

The scrolling feature on a laptop touchpad can take some getting used to, which causes some users to disable the feature.
Whether scrolling was intentionally turned off or never enabled on the laptop, it can easily be turned on from the "Mouse Properties" menu.

Click "Start" (or the Windows logo button in Vista and Windows 7) and select "Control Panel." Select "Classic View" in Vista if not already displayed. Double click "Mouse."
You may also access "Mouse Properties" in Vista and Windows 7 by clicking the Windows logo and typing "Mouse" in the search box.
Press "Enter," then click "Mouse" when the search is finished.
Select the "Hardware" tab.
Select the touchpad and click "Properties."
Click "Change Settings" if the settings aren't displayed.
Click the "Device Settings" tab in Windows 7 and select the touchpad.
Click "Settings."
Click "Virtual Scrolling" in the touchpad properties window.
Click the boxes next to each "Enable Scrolling" box and click "OK." Scrolling is now turned on for your touchpad.

Left mouse key button works intermittantly

Other than trying with a fresh set of known-good batteries, it might be defective out-of-box. Check with your place of purchase for repair or replacement options.

Monitor will not restart after sleep mode

it's not a hardware-problem - it's a windows feature smile_wink.gif - (and it really is one !) - please try this:
To prevent a USB mouse from waking your PC

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.

2. In the list of device categories, expand Mice and other pointing devices.

3. Right-click the entry for the USB mouse, and then click Properties.

4. On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow this device to wake the computer check box.

5. Click OK.
Don't forget to do this with your mouse + keyboard !

Hi Mary,

Just uninstalling the software won't help. You have to see whether or not your PC detects the mouse on startup. If not, go to the System Properties in the control panel and look for any conflict signs in the Hardware List. If so, you will see a yellow/red triangle with an Exclamation mark in it. This indicates that a hardware peripheral is either conflicting or not installed correctly or drivers missing. Highlight that by a single mouseclick and delete that & close the wondow. Now go to Add New Hardware in the control panel & try autodetecting the mouse. If your OS asks for drivers CD simply insert the Windows CD in your driver & direct its path to autodetect the .inf file and autoinstall the default drivers.

As far as I feel, an opticla mouse such as the one you have mentioned should automatically be installed if you are using Windows XP.

Anyway, try the above and let me know.

I purchased a wireles keyboard and mouse set yesterday which came with a floppy disk. The problem is I dont have a floppy drive

Simply visit the manufactures website and they should provide a software section where you can download any drivers and software needed.

Sometimes the driver downloads and software can be found under the support section of the website.

You should be able to find a manufactures website simply by typing the manufactures name in google.

Hope this helps
