My Zen is frozen. - Audio Players & Recorders

    It is a creative Zen...on the back it says V1G. On the bottom there is a # DAP-FL0036. It happened when I was scrolling to see if some songs that I just downloaded and paid for from Rhapsody had actually downloaded. It froze under the titles 'albums'. never had this happen before.

    it keeps saying my player is not connected... but it is connected... i am using the usb cable. any ideas.

    Unfortunately, the device (Creative ZEN) is not listed under disk drive or bus controller and there is no listing for portable devices... there is a listing for 'devices'... but i didn't see anything there. there is SAMSUNG
    under Disk Drive... but I don't think it is my Zen what???
    I'll keep checking. Is there anyother way to uninstall it...

    yes, i have xp. andyes, i have it plugged into the front of the computer. the device has now gone blank... and then said it was resetting the music library. now it is stuck on music library ....
    also, the battery icon was all green..with a lightning bolt through it... now it is white with a small patch of red on the end...
    whats up. maybe it has ghosts?

I need to have more information regarding this issue...when that happen? is it when you tried to play a song or is it when you cut the device on? What kind of zen do you have?

    What i would recommend is to do a firmware upgrade on the device...that should solve the problem...

    firmware, on the other hand, can be upgraded by downloading a new set of
    firmware over the Internet.

    what operating system are you running?what version of windows media player are you running?to check the version of windows media player on help, about windows media player and it should tell you a version...

    What you will have to do is to connect the device and go to your device manager to uninstall uninstall from device manager click on start, right click on my computer, then go to properties, clik on hardware then device manager...then look under disk drive, universal bus controllers or portable devices to see if your device is listed there...when you find the device, right click on it and hit uninstall...if your device is listed under disk drive make sure you have the usb mode under auto detect or mtp check the usb mode open your device and go to menu, usb mode and make sure its under MTP...then when you do finish uninstall your device, unplug it from the up your windows media player, go to tools, options then click on privacy and clear the history and caches...when you finish plug it in the back of your computer if you had it connected in the front....then windows should recognize...when windows recognize it you might want to do a firmware upgrade so you can update the firnware attach on the device..Please contact me if you have any other

    What service pack to you have install on your computer? I am assuming you have windows xp so thats why i ask chek what service pack you have install click on your start, right click on my computer and click should tell you the service pack....Do you have the device connected in the front or in the back?

    Find the reset hole on the side of the player, just below the power/hold switch. DO NOT MISTAKE IT FOR THE MICROPHONE HOLE AT THE TOP.<\/p>
    2. Push a paper clip in the hole, and the player should automatically shut off.

    That should reset the firmware on your device.after you do that connect the device on the back of the computer and let me know what happen when you do that...Do you have aim messenger?

    Please follow the steps below to resolve the compatibility issues that you are experiencing with your SanDisk Sansa player.

    1. Please ensure that your version of Windows XP has been updated with Service Pack 2.
    2. Ensure that your device is set to the correct USB mode by choosing Menu > Settings > USB > and setting the option to Auto Detect on the device.
    3. Connect the device to your PC.
    4. Double-click on the System icon in Control Panel and then click on the Hardware tab. Click the Device Manager button to see how the device appears in this list (usually found under Windows Portable Device, USB as Mass Storage Device or Other Devices).
    5a - If the device shows up under Windows Portable Device or Other Devices:
    Click the + and your Sansa model number should appear below. If so right click and select Update Drivers. Choose "This Time Only">"Next">"Install Automatically">Next. At this point, Windows should search for drivers and install them once they are located.
    5b - If the device shows up as a Mass Storage Device under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers:
    Click the + in front of the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Right click on Mass Storage Devices and Update Drivers and choose "This Time Only">"Next">"Install Automatically">Next. At this point, Windows should search for drivers and change the device to Windows Portable Device when completed. (Windows may require a reboot at this point.)
    If you are still experiencing issues with your device, you may also try formatting your device. Unfortunately, this will cause all information on the device to be lost; so if you have any files or songs on the device you don't want to lose, be sure to back them up before following these steps.
    1. Open Windows Media Player 10
    2. Click on the Sync tab
    3. Connect the device to your PC
    4. Click the Format Storage Media button
    5. Go to Tools----> Options-----> Privacy Tab----> Clear cache

Zen mozaic is frozen

Calm down and wait till it's battery will be empty. :) Then charge it in computer and then it will be not frozen.

I have the 8gb Zen and I usually end up with a frozen screen when I upload music. I unplugged the Zen and then use a needle to reset the player. It located at the bottom right.

My Zen is frozen...

"If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
