I have a 40" Olevia LCD TV Model 540-B11, purchased October 2006, and parts of the picture are often, but not always, dim or nearly black. Sometimes a light "tap" on the side of the screen will restore brightness, but only temporarily. Any ideas what's up with this and if there's an easy fix?
I had the same problem also, it's bad solder joints on the power board at the connectors for the inverters. I too tapped on the back to make it work but in the end I busted another solder joint loose for the heatsink of one of the mosfets on the board when tapping it.
The fix is to remove the power board and reflow the solder and/or add more solder to each joint for a better hold. Very poor quality board, it's the second time I had to fix bad solder joints on this board. The first was when I first got it and it had no power and had to retouch a solder joint on the 110v side of the board. A nice tv if I could keep it working...
Same exact thing here can you let me know if you find anything? [email protected]
