Question about Singer Quantum XL-6000 Computerized Sewing Machine
My new laptop will not 'communicate' with my machine. Yes it is running vista. I am using a USB to Serial adapter. Yes the ports match in the program and in device manager. Just wont send the pattern to the machine.
I had the same problem and it was never addressed by singer we finally figured out that singers software was not up to date with the new computer so i just sold my new computer and went with and older model I had Singer would not take responsibility for not having up to date software so good luck if anyone has a new computer

Hi! Solution #3 is correct. I had the same problem trying to plug the machine with a new computer, after a while I found out, the machine was built to be use with a computer of about the same year it was made that is year 2000,the machine cables do not fit into the new computer, I had to get an older computer ,Dell,Latitude 600 and everything fit well. but it is tricky installing the program need some one who really knows what he is doing. gook lack

Make sure you have a null modem serial cable or a null modem adapter for a regular serial cable inbetween your computer and the sewing machine. Also make sure your usb to serial adapter is set to com 1 or 2 in the device manager. I had problems with the conversion software using any com port higher than that.
