Im trying to record my cd into my laptop but i am not getting anyway with it so how do i do it its not even playing

first check the cd drive, if its ok, make sure that what you want to record to your computer is on the cd, secondly if your cd has cracks, it may not copy. other wise if its an audio cd, make it play using window media player, on the left side of your media player, click on "copy from cd", a different window will appear with the list of your tracks and click on "copy music", and then go to my document- my music- unknown albulm, unknown artisc and then you will be able to see your music. if it is a data, mp3, vcd, dvd etc, open my computer, my disc and select all the files, copy and past to your favourete location

Recycle bin is empty

Try your best not to use your computer!
I hope you have another computer.
Get a program like Recuca onto a thumb drive or maybe onto a cd.
Run that onto the computer that has the file your looking for.Keep your fingers crossed cause the more you use that computer the more chances of the file your looking for to get over written.

First you should stop using the device where your lost video located. And ask the help of some thir-party software. Here I recommend you to have a try on Data Recovery, which enables you to recover lost video with ease. If you are using Windows, photo recovery can also fit your requirement.

Deleting files

Im assuming you want to delete browsing history. You can go to Internet options in the control panel and delete browsing history there but to completely remove history files you need to delete the index.dat file.

This file, if you're using windows XP can be found in different places:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Cookies\index.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\MSHistXXXXXXXXXXX\index.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\UserData\index.dat
If you are using a different operating system, just search for index.dat and make note of the locations.

Once you've noted where the locations are you need to restart the computer and log in using safe mode. In safe mode pull up a cmd screen by going to start>run> then type cmd and hit enter.

In the cmd screen change directory by using the command cd C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\UserData for example and then del index.dat (to delete the index.dat file).

Restart and you're good to go.

My pc wont start...

it seems to me that its a kind of virus in your laptop.bcoz the same thing happened to my friends laptop also.
the best way to get rid of this problem is the download "unbuntu" which is a linux based windows and then save it on cd or pendrive.
after tht boot ur laptop from tht pendrive/cd.
there u will find search option search for files -desktop.ini,recycler.exe,system volume information and delete all of them permanentaly.
what i wld recommend id to delete that software which u was updatting too bcoz the virus has targeted tht software and can do it again too.
after tht boot ur computer normally.
if tht doesnt boot thn again boot it usong pendrive/cd cut all the data which is there in
ur drive(which has windows installation) and paste it on anathor drive say d or e.
this will save all ur important data for being deleted while formatting.
this is the best solution bcoz u can anythime use the unbuntu softwares to delete viruses which windows dont allow to dobcoz windows protect those viruses.

Cannot download adobe, (or any) files and get following message:

The problem lies in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Sometimes the index.dat file can become damaged.
If this occurs, you'll have to delete the index.dat file and restart your computer.
Then you'll be able to download files correctly again.
Follow the steps below to delete this file.

1) Open Internet Explorer.
2) Click on Tools, Click on Internet Options
3) On the General tab under Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete Files
4) Click Ok when it asks if you want to delete the files
5) Under the History section on the General tab, click Clear History, then click Ok
6) Close Internet Explorer
7) Log off the current user and Log onto another user account such as Administrator
8) Click on Start, Run
9) Type CMD and Press Enter to open a command prompt
10) Change directories to the Temporary Internet Files directory by typing the following command,
(substituting the correct drive letter and the word username with the correct userName).

cd drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Example: cd c:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

11) type del index.dat and press Enter
12) Type Exit and press Enter to close the command prompt
13) Restart your computer

Once the computer has been restarted, open a web page with a link to a download.
Click on the link and download the file. It should now work.

Please take time to rate this fixya
