Help, we accidentally hooked 24 volts. Now the power light doesn't come on but the trouble light does. Have I killed my amp or is it worth getting repaired?

Most 12 Volt Units have a Fuse built into them to protect the Circuit board from power surges or shorts if you can open it up and get to the circuit board inside look for a 12 Volt fuse mounted on the Board it should be located close to where the transformer is between there and the power source otherwise yes get a repairman to look at it. let me know how you went, Ron

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Fuse 18 for dash lights keep blowing. Have replaced light switch and instrument cluster

If your fuse blows repeatedly, the circuit is drawing
too much current. Possible causes:

1) short in circuit... frayed wire, accidental circuit board contact with metal frame, solder bridge on circuit board, or wire placement/connection error

2) Too high voltage in circuit can cause excess current

drain

TROUBLE SHOOTING: measure circuit voltage w/ meter. If normal, put amp-meter (with fuse) in circuit

at problem fuse connector and quickly check current.

If very high, trace (look) along current path for location

of a short to ground/frame/etc.

Hope this helps...if this is all Greek, consider looking

Tv turns on then clicks off by itself

Hello Steelworker, Hi, When the power switch is turn to ON then suddenly shut downs by itself, is a sign that the power supply board is in overload, the cause could be any shorted part on the main circuit board, a short regulator section on the power supply. a loose board, or foreign objects inside that shorts a circuit. There are no quick fix on this type of problem so my advice is let this TV be serviced by the repair shop. Common cause may be a shorted power board. Replacing the power board may OR may not solve the problem, this should be analyze first by tech guy. You can also inquire from your TV dealer for service.

The jack end of the ac adapter (plug into the

The jack has probably been ripped loose from the circuit board by repeated use over time. The jack must be de-soldered, then epoxy glued to the circuit board. Once the glue sets, the original connections need to be replaced with short sections of wire to bridge the broken portions of printed circuit. A relatively simple repair if done carefully. Hope this helps!
