The color from our RTD258RV dvd player is green and yellow. Can anything be done or do we need to get a new unit??/

From your description, it sounds like the RED connection is not being made.

The colors are created using RED, GREEN, and BLUE (RGB) primary colors to create other colors. If any one of the connections is not made, the colors will be incorrect.

Check to make sure the RED connection is good, with no damage or breaks in the cable. If it appears to be good, it still may be worth replacing the cable, which is much cheaper than a new TV!

Good luck!

Can you tell me if I can use my printer with only the black cartridge? if so what proceedure . I never use color

This printer usually prints with the color ink. You cannot print if the colored inks get empty. But if you want to use only the black ink without wasting the colored inks, go to control panel>printers and faxes then right click on your default printer and go to color management and click on manual. When you print again you will be able to choose which colors are you going to use from a list of colors.

Everything that is supposed to be black is showing

Hi,It sounds like a problem with the color wheel or DMD board. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will hear ,humming, buzzing, high pitch noises ,you might also experiment color distortion ,black and white picture. This is how the DMD works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!

Lamp light on front of tv stays on, it is amber in color

Hi,do you mean tv is showing an amber picture? Discolored Sides

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens.Ths if your tv is a dlp if its a Lcd it will be an issue with your light engine: Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

Strong colors, specifically those in the red

it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. This is how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo So basically the 3 Lcd chips that create the colors and image is going bad and thats why you get that color discoloration.Contact maker or look for your light engine online.

Color prints yield only brown.

do the pictures look right on the monitor?

a program that comes with Photoshop is called adobe gamma, and it starts the first time you run photoshop needs to be configured. try that as well

also try in microsoft word , to color some text and print it, does it print in the correct colors??

if nothing works, try reinstalling the printer driver, maybe you have chosen the wrong driver.

tell me what you get.

Photocopying

According to " HP Officejet R, PSC 500 and Color Copier - General Copying Issues and Solutions", under the problem heading "Black is not Black", notes that:

"The unit will perform mono (or black) copies using the color cartridge to create a composite black in Normal and Best modes. This is necessary to create the correct grayscale shades. NOTE: The HP PSC 500 all-in-one product cannot perform black copies. Scan the image in and print it out in greyscale.

The color cartridge may be out of one color of ink. Run a self-test page to verify that all the colors are there. Replace the cartridge if they are not."

In other words, the device only uses the black ink cartridge when used as a computer printer. When used as a stand-alone copier, it uses the color ink cartridge, and all three ink colors must be present and working to give a black and white copy. Perhaps you can refill the color cartridge with black ink in all chambers?
