nope worked one day.. and not the next. The top burners don't always fire up the best, yet eventually they work. what made me investigate, was last nite the oven wouldn't do a thing. noticed after pre heat time that it wasn't warm at all. It's a whirlpool MOD# SF377PEGQ 1 Thanks for your concern. Wayne

My whirlpool super capacity 465 will not ignite. There is no power what so ever going to it. There is nothing on the display. I've noticed that last week the display read "PF" -power failure..but everything lighted fine. I've unplugged the unit thinking that might help, but it didn't. I can light it with a match but that's it.

Same issue here. Google lead me to this site. Broiler works fine. Stove works fine. Oven just won't light.

My Whirlpool Super Capacity 465: The stove works, the oven doesn't. I am getting gas past the regulator, but it is no getting to the gas tube in the oven. What is the most likely problem(s) & what is the average cost to fix it?

ok the reason i ask the broiler and oven have their own ignition systems now if you will send me the complete model number off the serial plate on the front of the oven usually behind the bottom door ill got to whirlpool and lock up the problem also any trouble codes if it displays and did this just happen all of a sudden or any strange thing like self clean or such more info better to solve

try the broiler and let me know if it lights there is a safety valve on modern ovens that wont let gas in if oven doesn't light

Hi.I'm back, no the broiler doesn't glow either. ran some tests and i have 116.4 volts @ the igniter. and when I checked igniter I recieved an open circuit. Tested a new igniter and it showed a reading thus making me believe that the old igniter has open circuit. Also did ohms resistance test ?? on valve regulator and recieved reading, thus eliminating that the valve is probably not defective. So where I'm at is I am going to install the new igniter and see if it fires up . Then do the same tests on the broiler and see where I stand. Maybe our broiler has been out awhile and went unoticed. Till the bake went out. Make any sense? I may sound confused but confident that I will prevail... LOL thanks for everything,

now you say your top burners aren't lighting well either have you noticed any difference in the flame height if you turn all the burners on all the way

look in the oven up at the broiler tube and tell me if you can see the tube and ignightor ir you can turn on the broiler and let mi know if it glow-es red

we aren't done just trying to diagnose the problem its one of three things as i see it 1the electronic oven control is bad but that usually displays a f code 2the oven ignightor is bad but most of the time if that's the case the broiler will ignite unless both are bad which can happen but rare 3 either the oven safety valve is bad or rust is restricting the screen in the pressure regulator from the in coming gas line which would effect the whole oven . were just trying to narrow it down so we fix the right part sorry but its not the kind of promblem where i can just type a fix
