If you mean you have Microsoft Office installed but not the icons to open it, go to start -> control panel -> add remove programs -> Microsoft Offce -> Change. This will bring up the microsoft office setup. Click repair and follow the prompts.

If you mean you cannot open word documents etc. because you do no have Microsoft Office, there is an excellent free office suite called OpenOffice which will give you all the tools necessary to open these files. This can be downloaded from

Unable To Open Drives Through Right-Click

There is one option you may not know about. This is normally one of the tricks that the Tech help desk ppl at Microsoft and such often use. It could be due to a corrupt registry key or incomplete Windows file. I also Use Windows XP and this has saved me countless times. Click on the start button on the bottom left of your screen, then click on the icon that says Run, in the dialog box type sfc scannow. This will prompt your version of Windows to scan all critical files for errors and fix them as needed. Make sure to have your windows CD handy as it will be needed by this tool to make changes to the Operating system core files and registry keys.

My folder option is not working.

1. Open Start>>Run and type cmd and press enter. This will open a command prompt window. On this command prompt window type the following steps.

2. type the drive name which is nt opening ...
for example : if  "C" is not opening means ..
                      type    :    C: "press enter"

3. type   attrib -r -h -s autorun.inf

4. type   del autorun.inf

5. now type d: and press enter for d: drive partition. Now repeat steps 3 and 4. Similarly repeat step 5 for all your hard disk partition.

Restart your system and your trouble will be fixed

I cant open drive on double click

Right Click on the Drive Icon and select Explore or Open. You can open the Hard Drive.
But now an Alert for you.
If you are seeing the other option than Open in bold letter then your PC is seriously infected with Virus, Run a good and updated Antivirus.
