Question about Samsung SyncMaster 710N 17" LCD Monitor
I have a SyncMaster 710N from 2005, and late last year it began to flicker like a dying fluorescent light bulb. I've tried changeing the refresh rate, unplugging it and repluggin it, nothing i do seems to help... exept when I hit the auto adjustment button on hte monitor, which seem to fix the problem for the duration of the auto-adjusting cycle.
If it helps to know this, my monitor is being used with a PowerPC mac mini of the same vintage, that is running OS 10.4.11
Actually this is a 'warning' signal from your lcd monitor. The problem is your lcd ccfl lamp are near to their life, need to change. The ccfl lamp like our home fluorescent lamp, when the lamp need to dead, the lamp will flickering first, after some time, will totally off(dead). So, this is a signal for you. Some lcd monitor, when their inverter board are using fairchild inverter ic(oz series), will easily shutdown your monitor when they detected some flickering on your screen (ccfl lamp).
