Re: No picture

Possible IFT. or Horiz. drive circuit problem. Philips are noted for that.

GE Guide Plus Gemstar. It keeps clicking when I turn it on. Clicks four to five times but never actually turns on

If a standard set (glass picture tube) you have either a problem in the main power supply or in the High Voltage circuit which is triggering shutdown as protection.

What is the model number of your TV?

My ge television just turned off. when I try to turn it back on it just clicks like four times!!!

These sets are famous for problems in the horizontal/high voltage circuit. Loose connections, bad high voltage transformers and shorted horizontal output transistors. If the picture was still good it is probably worth having it checked out. Thanks

Hello, You have a high voltage section problem I would not suggest fixing this set on your own. You will need to take this set to the shop. Because there are no user repairable parts inside of the set.

32" model# F32668

The F32668 uses the CTC203 series chassis and I usually see 2 problems when the set will not run. The first is poor solder joints on a small coil near the horizontal output transistor, but if thats the case the set tends to run for a while and randomly shut off. When the set clicks and never runs I usually find that the flyback (high voltage) transformer has shorted out inside. In this case the flyback should be replaced by an experienced tech.

Problems with sound, video , and powering on

This could have started as a loose solder connection or a capacitor going bad inside the set. By now you probably have a shorted transistor and maybe a defective power IC as well. At this time of year when there are bargains to be had for new TV's, I would just replace it as the repair would likely be over $100.
