Not seeing other stick of ram

posted by basslik on Jan 17, 2008

i just upgraded my ram in my compaq evo d310, both sticks are the same, 1 gig each, so now i have 2 gigs installed, but computer only sees 1 gig of ram?
and computer is running fine, but why doesn't it see the other gig?, i tried switching the memory sticks around, same thing?

my computer supports 2 gigs.
slots are fine, tired different memory sticks, and they show right amount.
I have the same problem.

Hello
1. Check that ur M/b Supports that much capacity
2. Check the both sticks are of the same company and mb

If it supports do the following
1.  remove all the rams inside
2. Place the newly brought ram and restart the system
3. Check the system work perfectly
4. shut down the system and place the another ram and restart the system
5.  if it not works interchage the two rams and repeat the 2-4 steps

Let me know if your problem is solved and rate me as FIXYA!
