Question about Hitachi (900204) 100 GB Hard Drive
When i connect my external hard disk to my PC it detects but it fails to show its volume/drives.its contents are not displayed so whats the solution for that
If you hear a loud click clacking noise then the drive is dead if not try a new usb cable or port or if your desprate to save your data and are wanting to save your self the head ache call seagate technologies and opt for data recovery.

If your USB ports do not supply enough power (older computers) then the drive may fail to show up in My Computer.
The Seagate should have a special Y cable. There are two USB connectors on one end that must both plug into your computer - one for data and power - the other for power only. The other end of the cable has the mini USB which plugs into the Seagate.
