My camera will turn on but then turns off after I play the pics
After taking pictures when I hit the play back button to see the pictures it will do this beep beep beep sound and then shuts off. The lens doesnt always close all the way...sometimes it will though. My batteries are all the way charged which is the weird thing, bc when it first happened I thought that was the reason this happened.

I believe you can take the memory card out and go to view pictures and when you find the pics that are on there select the pic and then hit the menu button on camera or settings button!! it should ask to send to memory card but first take memory card out and make sure that they are there then insert card and hit settings on the picture and select to send to memory card
I have the same camera. First ,use brand anme batteries...not the discount type. The "power on" button is the one on top that is the larger of the tow next to each other. . The taking the pic button is the very largest of the threee silver buttons on top. I personally do not mess with the "settings" because it seems rather pointless. You will notice that as soon as you turn the camera on it functions as a recorder ratehr than a camera. Do not be alarmed. Just find the shot you want to take and hit the larger button on top. I purchased a 4gb card to insert in the camera so that mine would hold more pics.. The slot for that is on the bottom. Take it to your local shop or drug store and they can help you chose the correct one. The button on the back that says W and T are for wide angle and zoom. You can choose that option any time. The small button under witha tiny green arrow above that is for seeing what is on your camera. Just play with it. You wont kill it. Its not a living thing. For each picture you scroll thru on your camera, if you hit the menu or options button on the bottom yuo can delate or save them.
Just play with it. Take pics around the house you dont care about nad then play with the menu options buttons.
Now as far as downloading to you computer...just turn plug in the cord and turn the camera on. The rest of the info on that, what folders to choose and how to relocate them, i will have to get back to you on. I have to play with those things every time.
Now just go play in the house or outside. The more you explore, the more familiar you will become.
As far as using it for avideo recorder...i havent explored that yet.
It's elementary, but I want to mention to make sure you have a memory card in the camera. The camera will not turn on without a memory card.
I've done it myself several times and it scared the **** out of me, until I realized I had left the card out. One time I had to walk about a quarter-mile back to my card to get one after I had done this.
On my EX-Z750 there are two buttons on the top rear, one a right-facing green arrow with a green box around it, the other a red camera icon. If you turn on the camera and accidentally hit the green arrow button you will only be able to review the shots already on the camera. To return to taking pictures, push the red camera icon button.
- Turn on camera - Press on PLAY BACK button (wherein you are viewing pictures) - Press MENU button once - Scroll to the right until you PROTECT menu tab - Scroll down to SELECT or ALL PICS - Highlight ALL PICS - Press MENU button * It will be displaying pictures and another submenu telling you to UNLOCK or LOCK pictures - Use your zoom switch to change the submenu to UNLOCK - Once you've seen UNLOCK - Press MENU button so pictures will be released/unlocked
Those are the steps on how to UNPROTECT pictures on your A503.
