Question about Zanussi 24 in. DE6965 Built-in Dishwasher
I had the same problem with my dishwasher. The fault is because the water is not heating but in the majority of cases I would bet that the problem is not with the element but with a burnt out track on the control PCB. I was advised by a zanussi dealer that this track being repaired will not fix the problem indefinately but looking at the PCB the track which burnt out is just the 240V live and switched live from the relay, therefore replacing the track (solder some wire where the track was to the pins of the relay) should fix the problem indefinately.
I have successfully repaired my machine, it has been working for a couple of weeks so far with no problems. A couple of tips:-
1. The relay/tracks in question are beside the two separate connectors at one side of the PCB close to the big 12V relay (it should be obvious as there should be scorch marks)
2. If the two separate connectors above are swapped on reinstallation it will appeaqr that there is no power so before removal of the wiring take a note (or picture) of orientation of the wires.
3. Do not attempt this if you are not comfortable working with mains voltages and ensure that all power to the appliance has been disconnected before dismantling.
4. To ensure a good solder joint clean the area before resoldering with switch cleaner, or just scrape any residue away if no switch cleaner/ IPA is available.
Good luck, let me know if this fixes your problem.
