Re: tomtom one problems !

Hi, it sounds like a little plastic locking clip of some sort has broken. I don't know the device your talking about, but is there some way you could take a small piece of paper or cardboard and fold it up double or triple, and slide it in beside the card to sort of wedge it in? Here's their support site. Hope this helps,,, Mechanic

My tom tom sat nav wont turn on even when plugged in charger whats the problem?

hi try a soft reset, first make sure your battery is full. if you use a sd card, remove it. push reset button on bottomside of your tomtom, its in the middle next to "reset" push it with a small pin, paperclip or something, for at least 15 seconds. after that push on/off button for minimum 5 seconds. if used push back sd card. good luck

Get the SD card for any comuter store, and after you have to install the nav software on it, which for some information regarding the unit I will sell it to you for a rezonable price

Serial number on memory card of TomTom??

Yes it does. Insert the card into a card reader or if you have access to the unit connect it to your computer. Open my computer and open the drive letter of the device. After you have opened the drive look for a ttgo.bif or ttgo.bak file open the file using notepad and it will tell you the device serial number and device unique id. I will tell you this though if their device is working and is not freezing at start up they are not using your sd card. Each sd card has a unique number and will only work with that device.
Hope this answers your question.

I have connected to my computer but nothing happens.

I presume that you are using the docking unit, so plug it into a usb with the tomtom turned off, then when you turn it on it should boot up the tomtom home prog.
If that doesn't work, remove any existing tomtom home prog from your PC and try again.
Download tomtom home from your CD or from the website.
If you have aquired the unit second hand it may be blocked due to security reasons.
The only way to sort it then is to mail TomTom and give them your serial number and an explanation !

Hello siena,

There are several versions of the TomTom ONE. If you have the standard version you can find the user's manual on the TomTom site at this link:

If you have different version of the TomTom ONE go to this page and scroll through the list until you find the correct version:

Tomtom go 300

The tomtom GO 300 does not need an installation disk. It has firmware ( thats a sort of pre-installed software ) that is put on it at the tomtom factory. If the firmware has become corrupted it can be reinstalled or "updated" by logging on here > then click the DOWNLOAD TOMTOM HOME Link. Then connect your tomtom to your computer with a USB lead. Run the TomTom-Home software you downloaded and select "UPDATE MY PRODUCT" . After that , if you don't already have one you will need a valid SD card for your tomtom containing the maps for your country and some other activation codes which you get when you purchase maps from tomtom.
