Samsung DVD-V5500 Bought my dvd player in Arizona, so it is a region 1 player. Tried all the unlock codes I could find but nothing works. Is there a code out there for this American Samsung dvd player that will work?

I have a region 4 Samsung DVD-V5500 and I have not been able to make it region free or a different region for that matter. Friend has region 1 DVD that I'd like to watch but not possible.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My Samsung smart tv & my dvd/bluray player recorder I bought at same time. Haven't had blurays til now & wont play at all. Rental ones did now I've bought my own & they don't play! Not tech minded.HELP

Each DVD player is assigned a code for the region in which it's sold. For example USA/Canada are Region 1 players. DVD players will refuse to play discs not coded for its specific region. In effect, this means that a DVD purchased in one country is normally unreadable on a DVD player bought in another region.

If your rental DVDs work in the player then there is nothing wrong with your DVD player. If you have purchased DVDs that do not work the problem is with the DVDs you have, not with the DVD player.

Hello Smart People! I have a Samsung ht d 4200 2.1 blu ray player. I can't get the region code unlocked with the codes I found online. I tried the one where u turn off, unplug, plug backin, turn on,...

change the region on your PC DVD player, unlocking the functionality of DVDs from other regions.
is easy and follow the steps, use the common sense. God bless you

Click the "Start" Button and from the right-side options menu select "Computer." This will bring up the selectable drives menu.

  • 2 Right click the DVD you wish to unlock and select "Properties."

  • 3 Select the "Hardware" tab from the properties menu. Under "Name" you will see a list of all disk drives. Select your DVD drive from the list by single clicking the drive name. Select "Properties" from the bottom right corner of the window.
  • 4 Select the "DVD Region" tab. Select the region of the DVD you wish to play from the list of countries. Select "OK" and your DVD player will be unlocked for the region your DVD media is formatted.

I want to purchase a DVD in England to bring back to Australia. What coding do I need to get.thanks

You can do that only if the disk displays the ALL sign for region code, other wise the disk will be coded in region 2 only (you would need 4).

Comcast 3 in 1 Universal Remote code for Samsung DVD-V5500

I had the same problem trying to use those three codes with a Samsung DVD-R155 recorder and then downloaded the pdf files for all of Comcast's remotes and came up with two codes (1) 20490 and (2) 21470. The second code worked for me. Hope that this will work for someone else.
