DVD output (HDMI) to HDMI input on TV will transfer both audio and video from DVD to TV. Audio output on TV to unused Input on Yamaha receiver (Aux, CD, etc.). This hookup will allow DVD and TV channels audio playback through your Yamaha receiver. Remember to test any/all new hookups or connections using minimum settings (volume, etc.), and bring up levels slowly for the initial testing.

How do I hook up this DVD player to my 60 inch Westinghouse model #VR-6090Z ?

If your DVD player has HDMI, use it. If not, you'll need to buy a cord for it. Look on the back of the TV and the back of the DVD player. There should be colored connectors on each one. On the TV, it will be an input. On the DVD player, it'll be an output. There will be either 3 connectors or 5 connectors on the TV and DVD player. You'll need a cord with either 3 connectors on each end (red, white, yellow), or one with 5 (red, white, blue, green, red). Once you figure out which cord you'll need, buy it from any store that sells TVs and hook it up. The link below has pictures

Plug a bluray full HD to a sx 255k receiver have a picture no sound

Sometimes u need to go into ur TV settings and see if the audio is set to run off the tv or do u need a digital coxale for the receiver too. What happends if u use another hookup option? Do u get any sound or does it stay in mute.
Try to see if u just go straight from DVD to another system if u can or if this is on a sat hook up contact the providers helpdesk.
Good luck

NO VOLUME

first use only a coaxcil cable to hook up to tv ;second try using standard colored wire hookup (red/white/yellow if you can0 third make sure all cables are plug in tight and in the right area. If still nothing the try adjusting volume on tv and the dvd recorder before you do any of these things.

Do you have the red, white and yellow hookups on the back of your TV????? If you don't then you need to get an RF Modulator. You can buy one at Walmart. Older TVs don't have the red, white and yellow hookups. You hook up the RF modulator with a short cable to the cable outlet on your TV. Then you plug in your DVD player to the RF modulator. You also plug your cable for the TV into the RF modulator. It really is very simple. Directions are included with the RF modulator. You will need a short piece of cable also.
