Checked hose is fine. washer goes through 1st cycle then at about 29 minutes in, the washer fills and drains?

    Thanks

  • Raider51 Jan 21, 2008

Have that option but it is not selected. The cycle starts at 36 minutes and counts down, the problem is at the 29th minute and nothing else happens after that.

    Thanks

The washer starts fine, its the next cycle that goes bad. The water enters the machine than drains at the same time. This happens on all settings Etc. Heavy,Quick. Drain is clear took it all apart clamps are tough to work with. there is no siapon problems. Should I check the water level switch?

    Thanks for any help

The hose is set up the right way. We haven't touched any hose or moved the machine at all. It just suddenly stops working mid cycle. It doesn't matter what wash cycle I use. Heavy duty to delicate. After the initial fill up and wash it drains and spins. Then as it fills up again to rinse it seems to get stuck. The water comes in and goes out. It doesn't fill back up to continue the cycle. I know the water will drain properly because if I put it on the drain and spin cycle only it works. The water drains and the clothes spin out ready for the dryer.

  • Raider51 Jun 18, 2008

Now it fills and drains but does not cycle though to spin?

  • Raider51 Jun 22, 2008

Washing machine fills and drains fine now. It skips cycles it won't spin or aggitate. It starts to fill and drain then it skips right though to rinse. So it will go from 30 minutes to 20 minutes (ex). It also does this when I try Quick cycle.

This front washer throws the dE error code but the door is clearly not loose - at least not loose enough for any water to leak. Pressing firmly on the door the whole time during a cycle will sometimes keep the code from appearing, but not always.
Is it likely a computer error, a sensor error, a latch adjustment or wear problem?

    stumped

HI,

I have a FTF530FS about 5 years old. Just recently it started to make an awful noise during the spin cycle, as if the washer is overloaded or off center.

Anyone have any ideas for me before I pay to have Best Buy come out and look?

Thanks in advance

Two year old washer is fine during wash cycle but it has started to drain water when it is supposed to be filling for the rinse cycle. It is as if a valve stays open or something. Water enters the machine than drains at the same time. At first this happened only on color setting but now is happening on all settings. Discharge hose is set plenty high. It is not a siphoning problem.

Check to see if your drain hose is too far down in the stand pipe this will siphon water out as it fills.

acording to the washer timer chart thats about the time extra rinse occurs do you have that option selected and after that does it compleat the cycle

  • Anonymous Feb 22, 2008

no don't worry about the pressure switch how much water do you think should be in the washer and remove the lower panel see if the drain pump is running when its draining if the pump isn't running then your siphoning the drain hose should almost loop up to the top of the tub before it goes into the stand pipe tell me about your drain set up

  • Anonymous Jun 18, 2008

ok guys bear with me how do you know its filling if its not siphoning water out what your talking is about impossable but i beleive you ok take the bottom kick plate off and see if the drain pump is running when this happens and get back to me im trying to help and the pressure switch wont matter in this situation

Washer just shuts down

If the washer is turning off mid cycle then the problem most likely has something to do with the draining or the filling.

First check the drain hose is not to far down the standpipe. If it is to far down then the water might siphon out during fill. The water would fill and drain at the same time. One cycle I would like you to try is the "Rinse Only" cycle. This is a simple, short cycle that should just fill once, drain and spin. If the washer will do this then the major components are most likely okay.

Make sure the water drains out and let me know if the drain pump is the source of the noise you hear.

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

My GLTF 2940 makes a buzzing sound like a relay not pulling in all the way, during the rinse cycle. If you shut off the washer, and restart it on the rinse only cycle, it goes away.

its probably your cold water rinse only valves solenoid thats loose on the structure or the coil itself is loose, you may not hear it all the time especially during the initial wash start fill, try this, set the washer for cold water fill only on the washer, but turn off the water valves that supply water and start your machine to a wash cycle as normal, try this and see if it dry buzzes(without water),then try the same on the hot side, then with the water still off open up the machine and you can localize the buzzing noise

Check the drain for clog. If the drain is dirty, the washer won't fill, rinse, or drain.
