Dryer heats but takes several times to dry clothes. Have cleaned vents and replaced the thermostat. Still same problem. I have a Roper Dryer made by Whirpool Model REX5634KQ1 Type D433-ELE-2406028-FM54. Please tell me what you think. I originally thought it was one of the heating elements gone out, but was told this dryer only has one. Is this correct. Because I know it was heating some, so if it only had one then that should have been ok. When replacing the thermostat I saw something electrical that was white I now believe is the thermal fuse could that be the problem. It seems to be steady getting worse takes longer to dry. Please help! JamesGeneralJim@hotmail.com Thanks for your time. Gale
if its not heating at all the thermal is the most likely culprit and it was the little plastic piece you seen now if you have a meter set it to continuity and pull one of the wires off the thermal limiter and check it if it reads open its bad same with the heating element let me know now if the heater and thermal limiter are good pull the blower motor vent and check it for blockage

- ps a bad thermostat will cause the thermal limiter to open so you didnt waste your money

I just bought a Kenmore Elite Dryer with moisture sensor. The clothes take much longer to dry than my 30 year old dryer did. There is heat but they are taking to long to dry. The vent is cleaned out, what else could be causing this?
