HP a1243w graphics card update (Which DDR?)

Visit the HP country/region site for the place where you bought the computer. I could not find it in the USA/Canada sites, and have no time to verify for each country or region.
Go to the appropriate country site, support/ drivers download and download the specifications of the computer. If your graphic card has its independent/upgradable memory you should find the memory module type and buy accordingly.

Can I upgrade the video card on a Gateway E4300 to work with Shader 3 graphics (Eve Online)? Or do I have to buy a new computer?

You only really need to upgrade the video card and the PSU (most video cards need more power than what most companies like dell and gateway provide.). So no need to buy a new computer.

I am trying to install an ATI r9250 video card with 128 mb. My system is a Dell dimension L800cxe with a 900 mhz celeron, 512mb of memory and win XP. This system only has a 145 watt power supply. I install...

Hello kcfromks13
Yes , it seems to be a PSU insufficiency . A new one will only cost you a little money , don' t hesitate buying at least a 400 W power unit . Indications about this should be found on the box of your video card .
Check first if the correct driver has been successfully installed .
Best regards
fanaudi .

Upgrade from a 64MB nVIVIA GeForce4 Ti4200 graphics card.

This card is really good for an AGP card. It had 512 mb of DDR2 memory. If you are using Photoshop You need to look at upgrading to the max amount you can get into you machine.Photoshop is built to use as much memory as you will allow. I think you can go to 3 gigabyte of standard DDR NOT DDR2. Also, XP has Service Pack 3 now so download that from Microsoft's site. Hope this helps.

Looking to buy a new graphics card

You have a PCI Express slot to put a graphics card in. You can get a bigger graphics card to install in the machine but the power supply you are using in your comptuer is only 300 watts. If the specs of the memory card tell you to upgrade the power supply if its blow x amount watts you will have to do that in order to not run into problems. The good thing about e-machines is that you can upgrade the power supply at the same time. Usually they don't cost a lot of money.

You might have to get one thats around 425 to 475 watts depending on what the instructions tell you. If the new video card you are using is running a fan for cooling, chance are it will need an upgrade.

About upgrade my graphics memory

Your Intel D915GLVG has a integrated PCIExpress built into the board. Your system memory is shared with the built in video card. This board's memory can handel up to 4GB of system memory which up to 512MB can be shared from your system memory. If you wanted to disable the integrated 915GL Express Chipset with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900. You would be left with two PCI slots. Running a PCI video card is slower than a AGP card & two notches down from a PCIExpress card.
So in order for you to acheave what you want your going to have to increase your system memory. If you still have your manual the specifactions for your memory is on Pg. 9.
The link below is a list of supported memory from Intel.
If you no longer have your manual you download it from this link:
Though you can check aound. I can suggest this mamory which will give you 2GB dual matched memory that is within your boards specifications. Listed at this link.
You will still have two memory slots free to upgrade to a total of 4Gb at a later date. So please do not disable your current video card. Please use your manual when installing memory. Two Dimms go into certain slots on the D915GLVG board.
please vote....

G5 tower 1.8 ppc dvi interface video card to x2gen 22"

I would suggest you upgrade the video card something like the card in this link! Please note it specifically states on the box that it is for Mac G5. You also need at least 512MB system memory and osX 10.3.6 or higher. Cheers & Good luck.

Graphics problem

You need to take the plunge...Go XPSP2. Many games and drivers have been written/upgraded to work with SP2. Your new driver have been written to work w/ SP2. Your machines overall performance will increase. Since you seem to be a gamer I would recommend increasing the amount of memory. But you definitly need to upgrade to XPSP2. SP2 is everything XP was supposed to be but wasn't ready! Good Luck, Tim
