Question about Palm Zire 31 Handheld
The Zire 31:
I was moving around some of my appointments and the Zire became frozen in place and stopped responding to my stylus or the buttons;
then after a while [few hours, I think] it went blank [probably because it was on and the battery wore down];
then I recharged it and when the display became available it had lost all my appointments, etc., and gave me messages as if it was new - such as load cd rom and connect to other computer, etc., etc.
If I try to hot sync do I risk losing all my back upped data on my desk top?
Should I just replace this possibly unreliable unit with a new one?
If I replace, will it be hard to replace it with a new similar unit that will allow me to easily hotsync my backed upped data onto the new unit?
I had exactly the same problem. I Hot Synched it with my computer (Ignore instructions for load cd) and everything returned as normal. Since this episode, I've learnt to hot synch more often than I was doing.
