Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WD640 Front Load Washer/Dryer

2 Answers

Completely dumb question

We just moved to Scotland from America, so I am not used to the wash machines here. So I have a dumb question. Which compartments do I put the detergent and softener in. When I pull out the main compartment, it is split into 3 smaller compartments. One has a roman numeral "I", one has the roman numeral "II", and the third has something that kind of looks like a fan with 3 blades. In the one with the "fan" marking there is a blue plastic thing that tells you have much of whatever you put in there. It says 40ml, 80ml, and 120 ml. Is the detergent susposed to go in that one? If so, where does the fabric softener go? What is the other compartment for? We have a Hotpoint Aquarius (washer/dryer combo). I have looked in the instruction guide, but I can not find my answer.

Thanks so much!

Thanks Jackboy. There is a handbook, it doesn't say what each compartment is for. It just says it is the detergent/softener compartment.

    Thanks,

I am not sure if this will help but the compartment with the "I" is on the right and long, the one with the "II" is on the back left and half the size of "I", and the "fan" is in the front left and also half the size of "I".

    Thanks again,

    Cari

Thank you so much Jen! That was exactly was I was looking for. Thankfully, I have been using it the right way!

Hi, we have a hotpoint aquarius - the "fan" compartment on the left is for fabric conditioner, the blue thing is to save you measuring it out in the bottle cap. Number I is for prewash detergent (only if you're doing a prewash) and number II is the main detergent compartment, the one you would usually use. Hope this helps?

This depends on the use of the machine.
Broadly speaking
Large left compartment for Pre Wash
Large Right fro 'Straight' Wash
Small Blue for finisher/fabric softener - this can be powder or liquid
so it is dual.
Is there not a handbook with the machine to show you around the programs?

The Fan is for sure Finishing or Fabric softener[ usually a liquid]
If You cannot sort which try is which from the manual the best bet is to put powder in both ,one is sure to go what ever program you select.
You would also try customer support at HotPoint[ it they have such as thing ]
