Problems with attachments once they open

When I click on an attachment, it automatically downloads. Then when I click on it to open it, the file shows up with a bunch of other text. This happens also when I open the program(Word) first and then open the attachment thru the program. The attachments open fine on my pc but not on the mac. I need them on the mac. The version of Word is Office v.X.  Can you help please?

Are you talking about attatchment from EMAIL?

Betcha you have a lot of email.. Force your email program to compress it's folders. Perhaps even Rebuild its folders.
If all fails, get a newer or at leasst fresh install of your email
Try to find where it hides your mail first and make a copy, in case everything goes to heck.

Gluck.. (hmmmm I smell Eudora)

I don't know how to open the attached files

When you open your mail, after reading it, at the bottom of the mail, you would see your attachments, there is a 'view' link. You click on this if you just want to view the file. Then there is a 'download' link, you click on this if you want to download the file. When you download, it would provide you with the option to either 'open' or 'save' the file. Choosing 'open' will open the file. You would then have to save it onto your pc. Choosing 'save' would automatically save it on to any location you specify.
I hope this was helpful to your plight?
Have a nice day.

Dont know where to hook up / no manual

Click here to go to the link where you can download the manual.

In order to view the attached guide, you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. Once you have installed Acrobat Reader, you will then need to execute the following steps in order to download and view the Guides:
  • Right-click on the attachment below, and select [Save target as...]
  • Save the file to the desktop for access later. Once you have downloaded the file, double-click on the file to open it.
Hope this information helps!

How to email files from the computer

hi there,
1st thing you should do is set up an email account with one of the main providers like google, yahoo, hotmail or you may have another provider you prefer like your isp provider. That is of course only if you have not one already set up. ok once you have your email setup, locate the file/s that you want to send and take note where they are(i.e documents>folder>your file). this will make it easier for you you when you want to send it by email. Ok, once you're happy you know where your files are, log into your email and go to compose email/draft. Enter any text you want or need in the compose field and when finished, look for "attach a file" usually either on the top or the bottom of your compose field depending on which email provider you are using. Click on this and it should open a window with options to find the file you want to attach like windows explorer. now navigate to where your file/s are like you did before, and once you have the file/s you want select one to attach, you can only attach one at a time. once selected click on the "open" button on the bottom of your window and your file should be attached to your email now, sometimes once you select the file you want it will attach the file automatically and you wont even need to click on open. if you want to attach more files just repeat the process from clicking on attach a file. be wary tho of the size of your files, because the bigger they are(in kilobites/megabits) the less you should attach to the one email, cause it may just have difficulty in sending the email if the overall size is too big. To see how big your file is, just right click on it and select properties, and here you will see the size, type of file and other info on it. hope this helps and good luck :)

once attached to computer open file "my computer" attach an mp3 file to each drive. disconnect hipstreet. re-attach hipstreet once again.
once again open "my computer". by clicking on each drive seperately
you with see the "drive" with the mp3 file on it. this is the drive which
hipstreet is linked to.
note: when you wish to remove all songs, leave one track remaining
such that you won't have this problem again!

Remove virus from account

1. Open Yahoo Mail. Use your Yahoo! user ID and password to sign in to Yahoo Mail. Open the email message suspected of containing a virus.
2. Find attachments. The attached files are in the header section above the body of the email. The names of the attachments will appear as blue, active hyperlinks, taking on the actual saved file name given by the sender.
3.Initiate automatic virus scanning and cleaning. Look for another link labeled "Scan and Download Attachment" and click it. If this link does not show, you may have to click directly on the attachment's file name. Look for the alert "Scanning attachment for viruses." The alert may appear for less than a second, dependent upon the size of the file; if you miss the brief message it is not important.
4. Wait and read results. After the virus scan completes, if no virus is detected, you will be given the go-ahead to download the attachment. If a virus is detected, Yahoo Mail will try to automatically clean the attachment, and then present the option to download.
Hopefully, it may help to protect your Email account.

Are there instructions available, for someone not that PC literate, to send an e-mail with a Winfax Pro document as an attachment?

If you know how to send an email, the rest is easy.. Firstly, save your winfax document into your "my documents" folder and make sure you remember the file name. Setup your email as you want it then click on the "add attachment" button at the top of the screen (this depends on which email system you are using but most attachments can be added from the new email screen). In hotmail and windows live, use the attach button and select file. In outlook and outlook express, use the attach button on the top toolbar. Click on file and a dialog box will open asking for the file you wish to attach. Use the box to navigate to your my documents folder and then select the winfax file you saved earlier. If the file is not showing, click on the file type box and select all files. once you have found your winfax file, select it and click on "ok" or "attach". Wait for the system to upload your file and then click on "send".. You're done !!!

How can i get a picture from one of my folders to email it to someone?

Most email programs have an 'insert' function. Click on it, then find the photo you want and click on it then OK. The image is then an attachment to the email.

Opening attachment in my yahoo email

After logging into your Yahoo mail, click on the contacts. At the top you see Import/Export. You have to import the CSV file into Yahoo. Once that is done, things will be ok.
Good luck
