Question about Mintek DTV-373-D 37 in. LCD HDTV

Remote doesn't work

The remote only functions for the on/off mode. Cannot access menu, change channels, adjust volume, etc. Cannot manually utilize these features either on the TV itself. It is "stuck" on one channel and at one volume level. My remote doesn't work, it will turn the tv off and on, but I can't change channels, the only thing I can see is a five minute review of a dvd I played last and it is playing in a memory replay, which I did not program the computer to play in that mode. I have tried everything I could, but it still will not work.

Why cant i use any universal remotes to change the aspect ratio

Probably Not. Since most universal remotes will only be good for certain functions,i.e. Volume, Channel etc... not all the features of the original remote. You can try to do it manually if there is a Menu function on your TV.

Service menu codes panasonic

I provide this information for those that are qualified and trained to do TV repair work. Entering or making changes in service mode by untrained persons can cause significant and permanent damage to your television. If you are not qualified to service your television, please DO NOT ENTER these service menu codes.

Panasonic TV's after 1996 can be set to "Serviceman Mode" with the
following remote control sequence:

-select the SET-UP icon and select CABLE mode.
-select the TIMER icon and set the SLEEP timer for 30 minutes.
-press the ACTION button twice to get out of the menus.
-change to channel 124.
-adjust the volume to minimum (0).
-Hit the VOL down button on the TV itself (not on
the remote) and a red "CHK" should appear in the upper corner.
-press the ACTION and VOLUME DOWN buttons (again, on the
TV, not the remote) you will toggle between AGING and SERVICEMAN modes.

Select Serviceman mode. The POWER button on the remote control will
select one of the five Serviceman Adjustment modes.

The modes are:

B - Serviceman VCJ SUB Adjustments. These include sub-tint,
sub-color, sub-brightness, sub-contrast, colorkiller/ABL/gamma,
audio and video adjustment, and vertical size.

C - Serviceman VCJ Cut-off adjustments. These include Red, Green
and Blue cut-off, red and blue drive, automatic fine tuning
(AFT), RF AGC (RF gain control), horizontal center, beam limit,

S - Serviceman Options Adjustments. These involce the PIP and

M - Serviceman MTS (Stereo/SAP) adjustments.

CHK - the mode you first entered. Normal picture and sound, lets
you check things over and still have a hotkey into the
service menu.

There is one more adjustment that isn't in the five modes, it's
global. When in either the yellow or red CHK mode, you can press
RECALL on the remote control to enter the purity field check mode.
This lets you select a pure white, red, green, or blue screen. A
good thing to walk away from if you just want to temporarily freak
out the floor manager, but it will be fixed as soon as the TV is
turned off. Oh well.

To get out of Serviceman mode, press ACTION and POWER on the
receiver simultaneously for at least 2 seconds. The TV will momentarily
shut off and then comes back on.

How do I get a Crosley 42" hi def tv to change

I can't speak with knowledge about the Crosley brand, but almost all regular TV brands have buttons on the side for Function or Menu On/Off, Volume +/-, and Channel +/-. The volume and channel buttons are used to navigate the menus and to adjust the settings.

If you can't work this out by experimenting with the buttons, or reading the user manual, then perhaps you should just go out and buy a universal remote that works the Crosley TV brand.

Hope this helps.

I have a flat screen Sanyo Model# ctl 2054 will a universal remote control work for this tv I don't have the orginal remote control?

Yes, a universal remote control should work on this TV since all remote controls utilizes infrared sensing technology. However, not all functionalities and features of your TV can be accessed using a universal remote control, thus only the basics like volume and channel controls but some advance features like menu setup might not work.

Sometimes, if certain remote control keys are used over and over again the rubber on the bottom of the buttons wears off onto the inside contacts, breaking the electrical connection. This is common on power and channel keys, especially. If you can get the remote opened up, you can clean the contacts with a cloth and it might help. Otherwise, it may be worth buying a universal remote. Good luck! Der Strom
