Question about LaCie (300770) 250 GB Hard Drive
I have a Lacie 250GB External USB2.0 7200rpm 250 GB USB 2.0. I've had it well over two years with no problems. Recently my computer crashed so I had to reinstall. Before the reinstall the drive functioned perfectly. As of now anytime I turn it on I recognizes that a storage device has been introduced, saying that it can perform faster (as I don't have USB 2.0 ports installed) but after that it won't show in explorer. Has it taken a crap dive or can I fix this? Thank you for your time.
I would suspect your USB drivers. Go into device manager and remove (uninstall) any device under the USB heading. Reboot and see if it works better. Also I would try the drive on another computer to make sure it is working find and try a different USB cable just in case.
