Re: Driver

Me had limited support for Windows 2000 drivers, might work. Is there a windows 98/95 driver on HPs site?

I need to connect my printer to a different computer and can't seem to locate the disk that came with it. Is there a download possible? (windows 98)

Access the manufacturer's web-site:
and enter 'k60' and submit a search.
Select your model of printer.
Select your Operating System (Windows 98 has not been supported by Microsoft for at least 2 years, so it's possible that the device-drivers for Windows 98 have been removed from HP's site).
Download the device-driver.
Install it.

I run Windows Vista Home Premium os and have an hp officejet K60 printer attached. Mysteriously quit printing this week; each attempt to print elicits a print error in the print queue. I tried uninstalling...

Click Start and click Control Panel.
Click Hardware and Sound then Printers.
Click Add a printer. This launches the Add Printer Wizard.
Click Add a local printer.
Now, Use the drop down arrow to select USB port 001 then click on Next.
Select the Manufacturer as HP from drop down list and select DeskJet 990c from printer drop down list. Click Next.
Verify the printer name and set the printer as default then click next.
Select replace current drivers
Do not select print a test page option.
Click on Finish.
Click on start then search type notepad.

I have a HP OfficeJet K60 printer. I have a Linksys WRT54G V8 broadband router. I would like to set up printer so that I can print from my laptop without connecting the print cable to the laptop.

Do you have the jetdirect print server attached to the printer? If so, follow the instructions for the print server setup before connecting to the broadband router

Printer driver

Unfortunately the drivers are no longer available from HP due to licensing issues with Microsoft. You can download the driver from the following site, use the "alternate download" site.

Broken disk.

I'm assuming that you have Windows XP. If not, click on Software & Driver Downloads to access support for other operating systems.

Obviously you have already tried to without success or else you would not be posting to this site. The answer is two-fold unfortunately. Sometimes manufactures cannot keep up with tech changes in OS and there is a driver update lag. If you did try to no avail, it means the install disc/driver is not updated enough to be compatable with vista. You have two choices. Run xp on your laptop instead of vista or go to Hewlett Packard web sit (google it) and go to download section. Download the update driver that is vista compatable if there is one available. Now, install the printer on you laptop using this new driver. Back it up on disc to avoid losing it and having to download it again.
