Party going on, kids left faucet on clogged sink, water leaked on rug, Drunk Owner used Vacuum in which the hose is not intended for wet usage. Vacuum would not start again.

My daughter tried to "help" and ran water through the electrical hose part of the power nozzle. She stated it smelled dirty. The power nozzle itself did not get wet, but the hose has warnings not to use water to clean. I am letting it dry out but I am afraid to plug it in. Did she ruin the hose?

Probably got the motor wet. You would have to dissassemble the machine to verify damage to components. It may require a new motor there is not much else in these.
