Question about Samsung YP-U1 MP3 Player

1 Answer

No file I have a Samsung YP-U1 and keep getting the error on the screen saying "No File". When it is connected to the Laptop or Pc I can see the files on the device but as soon as I remove it from the Latop or PC it states no file. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried sync on both XP and Vista with the same results as above.

Re: no file

Iv had the same problem, all my files are on the Samsung YP-U1 when connected to the pc but when disconnected says no file.

I tried everything but with mine I deleted all the DRM files (Digital Rights Management) and re-copied the non DRM files back to the device and they seem to work now. I dont know if that'l help but its worked on mine.

If not buy a better mp3 player which'l allow DRM files

Hello in my samsung yp-u1 i have deleted all the files which were there in it and added new songs and when i switch on there no songs but if i attach it to computer and see the songs r there plz help me...

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :-

I formated the Samsung YP-U1 mp3 player and now it says it has no files on it, but it does. What's the problem?

When you format something, normally all files are deleted, and the file structure is set.

Sounds like those are the system files for the player itself. They cannot be deleted or modified as they are required for the operation of your player.

A firmware upgrade may solve the issue. To upgrade firmware follow these steps:

  1. Download the firmware file from the Samsung Download Center by clicking here.
  2. Remember to save the file to your desktop or documents.
  3. Uncompress the downloaded file in a folder (use winrar or winzip). DATA file will be displayed.
  4. Connect the player to your PC with the USB cable.
  5. Right click on the Start button, and then left click Explore to open Windows Explorer on your PC. [Samsung YP-Z5] is displayed in Windows Explorer.
  6. Select the uncompressed files and drag-and-drop it into the Samsung YP-Z5 Data folder.
  7. Disconnect the YP-Z5 from your PC. After disconnecting the USB Cable, the upgrade screen appears.
  8. Select [Upgrade] to upgrade firmware.
Try it and see.

Mp3 player keeps saying finishing and won't finish, and says connecting but not connected

instead of syncing, you can drag and drop the files, just click "open files to view storage", when you plug it in, then drag stuff from the media player onto the mp3 player's file
