Sony Blu ray Terminator Salvation.

I had a similar problem and my fix was:
1. google search the make/model of my blu ray player with the terms, "firmware update" 2. Download the latest firmware update 3. burn the .iso file to a blank dvd disc. 4. insert into your Blu-Ray player and it will automatically update itself.
I know it seems like a tedious process but it did work for me.

I bought a samsung DB P1580 six months ago, after playing a few movies i switched it on at the wall and no samsung logo came up on the screen and the disc wont play,the word loading comes up on the players...

when the samsung logo doesn't come up it means there is something wrong with player's main board and it needs to be replaced with a new main board.

All disc players have a thing called stacked tolerance. What it boils down to is some transports in players will not play certain discs; plain and simple.

All you can do it test it out on another BD player to make sure the disc is fine and test another disc in your BD player and make sure it hasn't gone defective.

Sorry I don't have an easy fix, this is not an uncommon problem.

Same thing happened to me today,you have to update the firmware at the philips website,click on software and drivers when you get there,installation instructions are there aswell.

My Blue Ray DVD Player won't play new titles

you need to plug your blue ray into the internet and download the latest software for your player. i had a problem with terminator salvation downloaded the new version for my player and athough it took 20 mins to download via a lan cable from my player to my wireless hub it now works fine wooohooo i just hope its not a **** film, its just started

This unit has a problem when playing dual-layer discs of some kinds - read the warnings on the Magnavox website - playing the wrong kind of disc will cause an error that will require svc/repalcement to fix

I had the same trouble with my LG blu ray . you need to upgrade your software on your blu ray. if u email Phillips customer service and ask for the link to upgrade ( which is called firmware ) the u can download it and put it on a disc . once you put the disc in the player it will update for you, see how u go

Your older bluray is likely a profile 1.1 and the newer units are 2.0. Yours will not be able to play some 2.0 discs due to not that much internal memory in the unit and it cant load the movie.
