Good Day!
I have an MSI 865PE Neo3-F mboard but my problem is that I can't go with my Installation on my Operating System which is Windows XP Sp2. When I do installing my O/S it will automatically got into a blue screen with errors on installing, I've tried already changing cd's w/ same O/S but still it will not finished. It will automatically restart in 3 mins before the installation finish and I've already tried to get a diagnostic w/ my harddisk and memory but still it wont finished installing my O/S.
Hope you can help me get through with it. Thanks
To vadinho. Check your BIOS settings. Make sure SATA is enabled. You could be set up for PATA only.
To eric_abs. What's your CPU? If it's a Pentium 4 Prescott, then it's not just the MSI 865PE Neo3. The Pentium 4 Prescott came out around the same time as Windows XP SP2 and it wasn't compatible with the installation. Best is to upgrade your BIOS to the latest. There are other solutions, not as good. Do a search Prescott SP2 installation.
Try to change some BIOS settings regarding "Cache" usage .... or even make a BIOS update ...
It could also be overheating components (processor, chipset, video card ), or as i had, a faulty isolation between the motherboard and the case (bad power supply actualy ), try removing the motherboard from the case, power up and try to install the OS, if it works than remount it in the case, but use some isolating material between the scrues and the bord ...
Hope it works ...
Hello!!!
Even me had the same problem ... guess u haven connected the hard disk cables to a correct slot .. try connecting to different channel on the mother board .. Most of the serial ATA hard disks have the same problem ...
