To vadinho. Check your BIOS settings. Make sure SATA is enabled. You could be set up for PATA only.

To eric_abs. What's your CPU? If it's a Pentium 4 Prescott, then it's not just the MSI 865PE Neo3. The Pentium 4 Prescott came out around the same time as Windows XP SP2 and it wasn't compatible with the installation. Best is to upgrade your BIOS to the latest. There are other solutions, not as good. Do a search Prescott SP2 installation.

Try to change some BIOS settings regarding "Cache" usage .... or even make a BIOS update ...

It could also be overheating components (processor, chipset, video card ), or as i had, a faulty isolation between the motherboard and the case (bad power supply actualy ), try removing the motherboard from the case, power up and try to install the OS, if it works than remount it in the case, but use some isolating material between the scrues and the bord ...

Hope it works ...

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/865PE-Neo2-PLS--PFS--PFISR.html#/?div=Driver&os=XP%2032

Remember to select the windows system you are useing.

The drriver needs to be unziped before installation.

Try also to run windows update or microsoft update.

The usb driver is in one of the service packs.

Hope this will help you.

Driver for it...

Please follow this link and select your OS.

Don't be surprise if there are only few drivers since this board is already compatible with several OS and therefore some driver are already present.

I need driver usb 2.0 for my mother board MSI 865PE/G Neo3 MS-6728 (v3.X)

Windows should find and install the latest themselves, try letting it do a driver search online to find the latest.

Otherwise get from the manufacturer. Try here:
http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=600

The chipset drivers should do it.
