HP CM1015 copy/scan problem

My CM1015 not always, but often, produces only a completely black copy print, or sometimes a small strip correctly printed and the rest black. The same problems exists with the scanner. Sometimes, changing the BW threshold helps, but that option is not available with the copier. Printing is fine. Any ideas?

Re: HP CM1015 copy/scan problem

If it printing fine it is more likely the scanner that is failing.

When making copies, only a part of the document prints; the rest is solid black.

Solid black in a copy typically means that the scanner is partially blocked. Open the top, where you'd place a sheet to be copied, and examine the small strip that runs down the side (left, most likely). See if it's clear, or if something is covering part of it.
Most copiers don't use the full size scanning plate for copies, but use a strip that scans the paper as it moves across it. If something blocks part of it, you get the black area.

Why my HP color laser jet cm1015mfp all in one not installing correct with my laptop win 7 64bit

According to the HP website:
"The Universal Print Driver (UPD) for the HP Color LaserJet CM1015 and CM1017 Multifunction Products might not be the best driver choice for this product because UPDs are typically print-only . There are no product-specific Windows 7 print/scan drivers available for this product.
While these products do not have a Windows 7-specific solution, you can run the HP product software created for the Windows Vista operating system on a Windows 7 PC in compatibility mode to enable full product software functionality.
This is the recommended Windows 7 solution to obtain the most software features for the HP Color LaserJet CM1015 and CM1017 MFPs."

Everything was working perfectly with my HP CM1015, I now have a new computer Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium and Microsoft Office Professional 2010. All my folders have been copied on to my new computer...

First here is the lnik to the drivers:

However when you go to print go into the printer driver properties and confirm the driver is set to print in color. Most HP color machine drivers have a automatic and manual option with the driver, which allows or restricts printing in color.

Black strip on right side when I copy

Check in your user manual how to reset the printer to factory default. This should clear up your problem.

Scanned Items or Copies all print in Solid Black

I assume that you mean color images are being produced in black and white. If that's the case, there's a document on the HP web site that shows you what to look for and provides solutions:

Color Image Prints in Black and White

Good luck.

Blurry Scanning/Copying

Are you scanning both black and white and color the same way? The ADF (automatic document feeder) uses a different scanning area than when you place the document on the scanning glass. If you open the scanner cover, look to the left of the main scanner glass to the narrow strip used for the ADF. Make sure this narrow strip is clean -- no ink or white-out or scratches. This can make your copies look dirty or smudged.

Won't print black and white, looks blue

HP uses a system for black that prints a base ie: Cyan / *blue then overprints it with black...

Sounds like you are either out of black or you have an ink clog?

If so... you need to use a print head cleaner like Magic Inkjet Flush you can get a kit on Ebay.

Good Luck!
