Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
Many people are hurrying to upgrade their Windows XP or Vista computers to Windows 7.
My advice is simple. Do a little bit of research first to make sure your computer and other peripheral equipment, especially printers, have drivers available for the new operating system. There is no greater frustration when you think that you are making an improvement and your sound or your printer doesn't work after the upgrade.
Nearly all computer manufacturers have support sites where you can check to see if the drivers are indeed available. For example: If you have an HP or Compaq go to HP Support and enter your model number and follow the links to Software & Driver Downloads. Click on Windows 7 when you get the OS choices and it will let you know if drivers for that equipment are available.
I would also suggest that when you find the drivers for your computer and equipment, that you go ahead and download them to your computer and burn them all onto a CD/DVD so that when you do upgrade they will be right there at your fingertips and the process will go smoothly.
Happy Upgrading!
