Yes amps buzz when something gets near them - say a pen or probe and if you know what it is safe to touch a finger! Fortunatly for you the left channel is the same as the right. So if you believe it's the pre-amp work backwards from the where the power amp connects to the pre-amp, going through the pre-amp stage by stage - prodding the parts. Remember a buzz in the right a buzz in the left! No buzz in the left but one in the right fault found! Ignore the power supply it's nothing to do with that as it's common to both channels.
If still under guarantee take it back. If not this sounds like a workshop job. If more than five years old (the TV, not you!) and you can afford it, junk this set and get a new one.
Have you tried swopping over the output leads from the turntable to the amp (normally one red and one white phono plug) so they are in each others socket? If you do this and you still get no sound from the right channel it is almost certain to be a faulty amp,or speaker. If you swop and get no sound from the LEFT channel it is could be either a faulty lead or cartridge.
hello if you are sure that you check everything, speaker, cables input signal.
if this pionner suddenly stops playing in one channel the most probable is in protection not burned so it needs service at repair shop.saludos
This sounds like the "pre-amp" section is cutting out or there is some interruption in the signal path. A few things to try:
1) With the unit off, try "working" the volume, balance and tone controls. This means, turn them up and down a number of times to clear any debris that may be in the controls themselves.
2) Work the input selector switch the same way if it is a rotary switch.
3) Try turning on/off the tape monitor switch a few times.
4) Keep track of whether this problem is sensitive to heat. Does teh channel shut down more quickly once the unit has been on for a while?
Lastly, if you can solder, look for any solder joint that appears grainy or has rings and resolder it.
Update this with your results and we'll continue on...
No solution other than replacement. On the one hand, ALL mp3 players are sensitive like that. On the other hand, if you are experiencing the "one headphone only" issue, it is a hardware issue. no one repairs these. Replacement only.
One of the strangest things that has happened to both the consumer and the technical field has been the use of a flexible adhesive on many of these machines' circuit boards. The glue in question is vanilla-colored, and has a tendency to react to electricity by inducing capacitance, resistance, and in some cases, even causing inductance issues. The fix, of course, is to remove as much of this material as possible, and following right behind with a nylon-based retainer. Then, if the problem persists, a followup with tried and true technical procedures...accordianman
the tac switches have gone bad.this happens from age or sometimes from washing the screen of the set and moisture gets on the.. it is not a big job but it does involve soldering skills
Had the same problem, channels would not stop scrolling.
It was as though someone had there finger on the channel up button.
Disconnected the sixth wire, starting with the black wire on the wiring harness for the front buttons, on/off, ch. up/down, vol. up/down, etc.
It works fine, no more unwanted channel surfing!!
