Re: date and time stamp

That didn't work for me, no matter how many times I try that it only turns it off on the display on the monitor, not the recorded video. Anyone got anyother suggestions?

Just purchased, forgot to set date and time.Is there a way to go back once used?

Open you instruction manual and look up the settings information. You cannot change any video that is already time stamped, but once date/time is set, it will correspond to new videos.

Time date stamp dcr trv140. I have this model. The date does not show in the view screen or on the audio output. Just wondered if any did on this model. Maybe I have a cheaper model.

From the 'Operating Instructions' manual:
"The recording date and time are not displayed while recording. however, they are recorded automatically onto the tape. To display the
recording date and time, press DATA CODE on the Remote Commander (remote control) during recording."

Need to get rid of date stamp on playback of videos...unfortunately videos have already been there a way to turn it off on playback?

Well if you decided to date/time stamp on your films, then that is what it has done for you, just go into setting on menu and turn them off again, that is the default mode.

Time/Date stamp doesn't show up...

this camcorder has a built in rechargeable battery for the memory of the date and time, if you do not use it for more than three months, it will discharge all the way; to recharge, you need to plug camera with ac power for 24 hours and the camera turned off. this should charge the internal battery complete.

How is the time/date stamp displayed on a copy

The time/date is 'stamped' onto the video during recording. The time/date stamp function can be turned on or off in the setup menu. If it was 'on' during recording, it will be displayed when played back. If it was turned off, it will not be seen on the recording.

How do I locate date/time?

Here is the link for the manual. There is detailed info around pages 20-25 on this topic.
On mine you go to Menu, Video Display, and then change the date time to on.

Most camers will always record the date/time stamp, whether or not it is displayed is this setting.

Time Date Stamp on finished Video

the time and code is recorded all the time but the only way to put it on the display is to use the remote control. when plyback a tape press the time/code button(i think this is the right name of the button)on the remote. this camcorder has a different way to display the time than other cams and you have to do this every time you play something(feature does not stay on after shutting down the cam or ejecting tape)
