Re: Download MAil From JAna SErver

Hello Sir,

As my internet is shared through cc proxy
I have to put proxies to all of my programs so that they can run.
Unfortunatelly the only one I cannot get running is outlook express.
When I try to edit the outlook proxy settings it sends me to Internet Explorer's settings
(which makes me think that outlook and internet explorer share the same proxy settings).
The strangest thing is that IE runs with no problems
but outlook express cannot connect to the server.
It says that the server cannot be found (both incoming and outgoing)
Could you please advise me how to make the outlook running.
Also I had try to install squid 2.7 proxy on win2k8 but i m getting some error with squid service is not runniong on win2k8 it says create services failed ...please advice me which proxy server i can use our network ( my task is only i want 2 secure internet & block some sites on my internet and outlook should be a work )

Thank you very much.
Have a great day,

Jana server is a proxy server to share internet connection between multiple computers. As long as related port is allowed, MS Outlook will be able to send and receive emails. However you need to enter your email provider's parameters correctly. (i.e .

If you cant setup post your question and let me know your email provider so i can tell you possible solution.

Good Luck

Is there a method to repair corrupted Outlook 2010 Address Book?

To fix this you can remove the Outlook Address Book service, restart Outlook, and then add it again as indicated by the steps above.
Sadly this workaround will not work in Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013 as removing the Outlook Address Book service is not supported in these versions. In this case, you must recreate your mail profile.
(Re)creating a mail profile..
1. Press the button Add...
-Do NOT use Copy... not even when you want to recreate your mail profile or you'll end up copying the corruption as well.
-Do NOT delete your old profile, not even when it is corrupted, before you verified that the new one works. You might want to lookup some account settings afterwards.
2. Enter a name for your new Mail Profile.
3. Select to add a new mail account.
4. Make sure you choose the correct account type. Ask your ISP or
administrator if you do not know this.
-If you are using Live Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo or AOL, you can find the settings you need here.
-In Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, you can simply type your desired display name, email address and password and Outlook will try to determine and configure your account automatically.
If this fails you can still choose to configure it manually with the
information provided by your ISP.
If actions on above can't get back your address book, then try third
party software Address Book Repair Toolbox

I am running outlook 2007 in Windows 7. I can receive email, but cannot send emails

That would be a mail server setting in Outlook. You'll need to use the correct email server and login info from your ISP. Odds are, your account credentials/logins are being rejected or you're not using the correct port for the server.
I'd go to your ISP's site and look how to set up IMAP or POP3 in Outlook. :)

Getting outlook to work; won't connect to server

Hi! Thanks for using FixYa to solve your problem. Basically, Outlook needs to know what your outgoing and incoming servers are, and how they are configured, in order to send and receive your e-mail correctly.

The incoming server is the e-mail that you receive from other people. The outgoing server is the e-mail that you send to other people. I would advise the best thing that you could do is to call your Internet Service Provider, or ISP (like Charter or Verizon), and ask them the following questions:

1) What is the address of the incoming e-mail server? (like -
usually this is a POP3 server.

2) What is the address of the outgoing e-mail server? (like -
usually this is an SMTP server.

3) What is the port for the incoming server?

4) What is the port for the outgoing server?

5) Is this an encrypted connection?

6) Does either server require authentication (usually the incoming server)

In addition, please be sure that you use the correct username and password for your e-mail that your ISP provided you. This is likely going to be different than the username and password that you use to login to your ISP's website (it is for Charter).

POP3 and SMTP are "protocols," or languages, so to speak, that your ISP's network uses to "talk to" other servers to send and receive your e-mail. As long as these settings are configured correctly, Outlook should have no problem sending and receiving your e-mail.

These same methods work for other e-mail clients like Mozilla Thunderbird and Incredimail.

When you create a new account in Outlook by the way, Outlook will try and use an encrypted connection. If your ISP does not use encryption, you will wait a good long time and then Outlook will tell you it can't find or configure your e-mail s ervers. If that happens, just tell Outlook to use a non-encrypted connection, and then it should find all your e-mail server's settings from your ISP just fine without further intervention.

I do hope this helps! Take care!

Trying to set up outlook but dont know incoming and outgoing servers how do i find out

The incoming and outgoing mail servers are going to be the ones used by your ISP(internet service provider:Time Warner,Verizon, ect) if you use their mail service or a web based service(Yahoo,MSN,ect). So you can first start with your actual e-mail address. If your e-mail address is then you e-mail provider is yahoo. You will then need to goto the website for your e-mail provider and get the incoming and outgoing e-mail server info from them. You will also need your username and password for your e-mail account. Then set up a new e-mail account on outlook express using the information. Also some mail servers require authentication so you might need to configure those settings on outlook exprerss also.

I have two e-mail accounts with the same ISP. One allows all mail waiting on the ISP server to download 100%. The other address is selective and will not download a mail unless I have the senders details...

The advice given by 'rulds2008' was what I need to solve the problem. I did as suggested i.e., have the spam filter lifted by the ISP. It did the trick, my e-mails download in total once more and I'm a happy bunny again.

I can not set up mail account of out look express my server smtp

Setting up Outlook Express, you need to know from your Internet Provider (ISP) or who host your email (e.g yahoo or hotmail) for the Incoming Mail Server(POP) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). This needs to be configured in Outlook Express before you to can check and receive your emails.
