Have you already hooked it up? If so you will have to uninstall it. go to control panel, then printers and faxes click on your printer and uninstall it and unplug the USB cord from your PC. then run your install disk you got with the printer, if you don't have one you may be able to get one from HP or download the correct driver from their website. once you run the install CD follow the onscreen instructions and don't hook the printer to the PC until it tells you to.

Hp psc 1100/1200 all-in-one does not scan with vista..

I had the same problem. Click Start, Windows Photo Gallery, from that screen, you can select import from scanner. The 1200 series printer should be a choice to select. You are then able to preview the image or document, then press scan. I found this out through the HP support website.

Power surge to usb port when installing cd

Delete all the USB ports in the device manager
Restart the computer to let XP install all the USB ports again.
Go to the first USB port and right click on it and go to properties. Then on the advance tab click on do not show warnings.
This should resolve the issue.
Is your PC a Dell by any chance?
If so there is a patch available to fix this also.
Please let me know how you get on.

Using JETCET Print with OKI C5200n Printer

The OKI 5200 is a 'GDI' or Windows only printer and does not support PCL or PostScript languages.
Most if not all of the printers listed support either PCL or PS or an inkjet based language.
I'm afraid you will not be able to print the the 5200 without it's driver loaded on the PDA.
If the 5200 supported PCL you would be able to choose any of the
Color HP Deskjets.
