Lines when I print on photo paper

I am getting lines when I print on photo paper, but not on regular paper. They are just slightly lighter than the photo and look terrible. Please help. I have calibrated, cleaned and done all I can on HP's support site. I sent support an email for help on Monday, but haven't heard a thing.

Re: Lines when I print on photo paper

This is usaually because of print catridge, before that u check in driver properties that the print quality is set on best or picture mode, even if the results are same just clean the contacts points behind the catridge,on the assy on which the catridge is getting fixed.or replace the catridge at last

This evening I bought a new HP Photosmart C4780 printer. I am trying to print photos now and the photos are being printed with small vertical lines across the whole photo. How do I get rid of them?

> I bought a new printer

Take it back, and get one that does work correctly.

> VERTICAL lines ACROSS the whole photo

Hold the paper in "portrait" mode, not "landscape" mode.
Are the lines HORIZONTALLY-ACROSS the paper,
or VERTICALLY-DOWN the paper?

If those lines are WHITE and HORIZONTAL,
then some of the many ink-jets inside the print-head are *CLOGGED*.
Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog it.
Or, exercise the WARRANTY, and get it replaced.

My photo prints have lines across them?!

the glossy paper you are using (hp) is smearing the ink... there is now ink on the feed rollers and you need to get in there and clean it all up with alcohol...also run epson matt paper for a few prints to get the color to lay down ..good luck

You didn't state what type or weight of paper you were using.
I have this problem using hp premium photo paper, glossy. When I use a lighter weight glossy paper it goes away.

Black lines on photo

Are the lines always in the same places? If they are, then I would try using different photo paper. Humidity plays a big factor when printing with any kind of paper and buying new paper would be a good start. Make sure that the paper is made for your printer specifically. You might also try printing on plain paper to see if you get the same results.
