SIM Card How do you remove the SIM card in the EnV? I'm getting a new EnV because mine won't turn on and the front screen is broken. If I put my SIM card in the new phone it will have the same number and my contact list and stuff correct? I'm just really confused right now and have been without a working phone for like 2 days.

Re: SIM Card

Verizon is a cdma network and does not use sim cards you will have to go into the store to get the phone switched (they might charge you $20) or call customer service (1-800-922-0204) or do it online yourself by logging on to the vzw my account website.

Re: SIM Card

Verizon offers memory cards that you can save your sounds, pictures, and videos too. IF one of these is purchased you can insert it into the memory card slot then save everything to it and then transfer the card into your new phone.

Re: SIM Card

No, you can't use a sim card with an enV. And since your phone wont turn on you might have trouble getting it transferred. But I know that when possible Verizon will transfer your contacts and pictures, but you'll lose your saved messages and such. The Backup Assistant mentioned above works great for your contacts, I use it. But I've been stuck multiple times in the situation where my phone was too messed up to transfer anything and I wound up getting a new phone on the same number with no contacts, no pictures, and no nothing.

Re: SIM Card

You can go to (creat an account there if you haven't already done so. Its free) once you have an account you can go on your phone and get the "Backup Assistant" it is normally like 2 or 3 dollars a month but if you have the online account i was talking about, the fee is automatically waved. Then once you have the progam on your phone it will save all of your contacts(not your data! that im told can not be transfered) once your contacts are saved you can even access them online. So once you have done all of this and you have your new phone you just have to go to the backup assistant on your new phone and then input your pin you made on your original phone. And i just realized that you said your phone wont turn on and i have typed all this for nothing. haha. im leaving though. Maybe it will help someone else.

So what did I do with the photos from the orchard lunch with Nana? My daughter and I uploaded the photos to an online photo site and using the photos from our visit, made a twelve month calendar for Nana's birthday in September. Taking photos using your cell phone camera can be lots of fun. Bring able to access, share, and view them is even better!

I was trying to put a lock on my cell phone and it suddenly went to this PUK code thing, I'm down to one more try and I'm nervous, I know it locks forever if that happens it'll be bad, I only...

These directions are for an AT and T phone, but other than that, are the same for any carrier. A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from your phone carrier to unlock your SIM card. You can obtain your phone's PUK code from your carrier in one of these ways: Log in to Your Use a Technical Support Chat Contact your carriers Customer Care Get Your Phone's PUK Code Online Go to the Phone/Device page. From the My Phone/Device screen, select the Unblock SIM Card link under the My Make & Model heading. The Unblock SIM screen will display your PUK code and will give you instructions for unblocking your SIM Card. Once you receive your PUK code, you will need to enter it into your phone to set a new PIN code. Note: If you enter the wrong PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator

How do I get photos and videos off of my dead EnV Touch?

If it is dead, remove the sim card. If the phone can't be powered up and has no sim card, no one but the FBI could access that "private" data.

Were is the sim card in an LG enV

Verizon's network does not use SIM Cards, only if you have a Blackberry and your going out of the country -would they give you one.

Since their phones are built to pickup CDMA signal, most of the phones don't have a spot for a SIM Card.. Because the phones can't pickup sim card signal..

But your local Verizon Wireless store can hook up both the phones to their system, to do a phonebook transfer for you! Or you can signup online for backup assistant through verizon. Backup assistant is where Verizon saves & copies your contacts onto the website - and then when you hook up a new phone, you use get it now to get backup assistant on the new phone, and it will copy the numbers over for you. If you signup online, it's free.

My old LG cell phone (LGCU400) broke and was replaced with a newer model (LGECU515). I put my old sim card in the new phone but I cannot retrieve any of my contacts/info from the sim card. Is there...

I went to the AT&T/Cingular store and they tried hooking my broken phone to their system but could not retrieve any #s (they were saved to my phone not my SIM). They told me there was no other way to retrieve the #s and that a computer cable wouldn't work bc their system would've been able to retrieve them. I knew there had to be some way of retrieving them bc I could still turn my phone on- the top 1/2 (screen) had just broken off.
It finally dawned on me to look at my husband's phone (we had the same one), write down the buttons to press & the # of clicks per button on my old phone, in order to blindly go through my entire contacts list and save each one to my SIM card. Approximately every 25 contacts I saved I'd switch the SIM card to my new phone and make sure they were all saving correctly. I'm currently still transferring all 137 contacts- grueling but well worth it. This only works if your old phone will still turn on & function even if you can't see/use the screen.
***Make sure your phone's saving your contacts to your SIM and not your phone- I thought mine was and it was one rude awakening today when I found out otherwise! I hope this helps!

My enV won't hold a charge

You said the new battery worked but wont charge in the phone. You had water damage to the phone before getting the new battery correct?

First remove any Mini S/D card in the phone, power it off and remove the battery. ( only do this if its out of warranty and nothing else works. ) Your need to take the phone apart and get some alcohol wipes and wipe down the circuit board and connectors and anything that may have had water on it, if you see any crude, try to rub it off, there may be water and crude built up on contacts from the water damage that may be shorting the phone. Also check the battery contacts for greas or crud on the contacts. Once you have wiped down everything the alcohole should evaporate and take any moisture with it. Leave it out for a day dis assembled so it can air dry completely.

Put phone back together and hook up the charger and see if it charges. wait to put the memory card back in as in case you screwed anything up, you dont want it to take out your memory card with it.

I have performed this task with many of my friends cell phone that have gone through washing machines or got moisture in it because they take there phones into a steamy shower and moisture ends up shorting it out.

If nothing else works and you want to try it, go for it.

remember theres 6 screws in back and 4 around the mainscreen that are covered with triangular sticky covers, then use a thin knife or something to pry from one of the corners, one it gets started you just have to pop it apart with your fingers. Everything snaps back together easily.

Be carefull on the side with the screens, you dont wanto to pop apart the front screen from the mainscreen as its a pain to keep together when putting it back, also dont get any dust or fingerprints on the screen as they will drive you nuts if you put it all back together and theres a greasy fingerprint under the plastic that protects the screen.

Good luck
